What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu?
Good morning, everybody!
Is anybody entering the HGTV Dream Home Giveaway? This year's house is in Vermont on 11 acres. It's not my favorite Dream Home, but I'd take it. When we first heard about the giveaway, years ago, we faithfully entered every day. But after a few years of not winning, we just lob in a few entires every now and then.
This one has left me feeling me tired today:
With a 35 lb Kettle bell
5 Rounds
20 one hand snatch
20 Goblet Squat
20 Russian Twists
Didn't seem that hard until I started it. But, in general, any time I do one armed snatch without a massive bruise on my forearm I call it a win. Also, 12,000 meters on Assault Bike for this January Challenge.
Marilyn went shopping at the Forum shops yesterday. She didn't buy anything, she rarely ever does. More likely, she would buy clothes for our daughter. Their actual tennis matches start today. Its about 60-65 in Las Vegas this week.
Me and the youngest are just trying to stay warm. Gym, haircut, trip to the butcher and happy hour today. Also, I think that I am going to sign up for that Nutrition Class on Crossfit.com.
I hope everyone figured out how to get to the restaurant's web site. At some point I am going to have to get a tutorial from Sheila on inserting links.
Picture from the wedding last week:
QOTD: Generally, no. One of my former partners was President of the Board for Girl Scouts. She is a good person.

It's a gorgeous house but not so much my thing to a T. I haven't entered in years! The thought of the property taxes scare me! LOL
great picture, you both have great smiles!
Mel
I never enter, either. I don't have much use for another house - plus there'd be property taxes and maintenance on it. Although I guess one could always sell it. It can be tough to sell really expensive houses, though - a lot of people can't afford them. My aunt and uncle live in some monstrosity in Vermont - I wonder if they'll ever be able to unload the thing. It sat on the market for three years before they bought it (years ago...). Housing market is likely much better now, but still, there's a small subset of the population that can afford that much house.
Not only a functional link, but the link is called link. Fancy.

I'm thinking I'm going to go. This sounds ridiculous, but I keep worrying that someone - or a cat - is going to get sick or die while I'm gone (not out of the question since we're talking elderly and/or major health concerns here), but then, I could sit home for the next five years worrying about that. Plus, that's what travel insurance is for...
I never enter sweepstakes because it would wind up with tons of offers to enter more of them. My husband wanted to enter the Publishers Clearing House and I told him not to do it. But he said he was not going to turn down the chance to be rich. About a month after he started entering, all the new magazines arrived. He wondered why and I told him it was because he was ordering them when he sent in his entry. He quit entering. I know you can enter without ordering anything but you have to pay attention to what you are doing.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
I read this article about the HGTV dream houses, and due to the costs associated with them most of the winners end up selling them. They end up with a huge tax liability. I think it said the longest that someone actually lived in one was about 5 years. Plus since you raise the value of the homes around them the neighbors aren't happy either.
