What's on your Tuesday Menu?

I love a good Yo Momma joke, haha.

What's going on with everyone on this Tuesday morning? I hoped I would sleep past 3am because I have a board meeting tonight that goes until 8:30pm, so I have a 13+ hours day ahead of me. But alas I woke up at 2:45am... I suppose I could go home in between, but it seems silly and I am definitely not lacking for things to do, so I will just power through.

It's cooooold out there today! The high is not getting out of the single digits and the "real feel" will never be above 0! It's the coldest day in over a decade here... Thinking of Liz who managed to get out of here just in time! Please have a drink on the beach for me :)

QOTD: What's a silly splurge for something you want but don't really need? I would love to get a remote starter for the car. I don't really need it now that I park in the garage, but on days like today I would loooooove to be able to start up my car early and get her a little warmed up before sitting in it. I feel like I have to talk myself out of getting one every January!

Food was ok yesterday. I didn't have any of the snacks I planned, but then I switched to a higher calorie dinner and also had an unplanned handful of Dark Chocolate Espresso Beans so I ended up a little over the calories I planned, overall. Today should be on plan because I will be limited to what I bring with me for the long day!

Good morning JB and hope all of you in the cold stay as warm as possible!

Yesterday SUCKED. The pain management place and my neurosurgeon is fighting over my care and what I need vs what the clinic is willing to do. My neurosurgeon was passed at what meds they have me on. By pissed I mean he cussed...which isn't highly unusual for him but the anger was real. You see the clinic has threatened to "fire" me if I take anything for pain prescribed by someone other than them. My pain is NOT controlled. It was/is so stressful. The neurosurgeon was mad as he said they are picking on me. Which upset me. I thought it was fixed but I got a call from the clinic saying I could take half of another pain pill with one if I needed it for sleep but I have to worry about running out. Sleep and pain is just **** Whoever said invisibility isn't real hasn't visited a pain management place.

The stapes coming out hurt badly...they had mostly been scabbed over or at least partially. I nearly cried and I did wince a few times. It had to have glue put on it then the NP put some steri-strips on it. It hurts quite a bit this morning.

not sure what today'll hold. Hopefully not much.

QOTD: the cricut for me was kind of frivolous for me. I didn't need it but I really wanted it!

I haven't a clue about food today. Probably a GF waffle for breakfast. We may get Thai today , if we do it'll be satay for me.

Melody I'm sorry you have to deal with the BS from the pain management clinic.

My husband had the same thing happen to him when he hurt his back at work. All he asked for was a muscle relaxer, but they wanted to give him all sorts of **** that makes him sick. He finally told them to **** off and called the department of health in Rhode Island on them. He also contacted the workers comp company and told them that the pain place was pushing drugs on him and they made him feel unsafe.

Sounds like you do have a pretty good neurosurgeon. He seems to really care about your care and pain treatment.

Sending you a big cyber hug.

Thank you so much! Unfortunately I think I have to thank...at least partially...my families past addiction issues. I was dumb enough to say that it was there on the medical survey intake form. Since that moment they are stingy on everything. I know addiction is real...I've experienced it with food and I've seen my uncle die from it...and my father died of alcohol abuse. I get it but like the neurosurgeon said...all he has to do is open my skin and he can still reach my spine since the muscles are still not together.

Get this, I got a call from the neurosurgeon's NP that the pain management NP told her I said I was just fine. That I told I didn't have an issue with sleep. Pissed me right the hell off. This isn't the NP I usually see thank God but man I'm livid...absolutely LIVID. I told exactly how I was doing...she even told me to make sure and tell them about the numbness and tailbone pain. I explained in detail about my lack of sleep They are going to up my night time dosage so I guess that's better than nothing. I never overtake my meds even when I've been in horrid pain. I think they should trust me more and not threaten to "fire" me.

thanks for the reply! I'm glad your husband took charge. That's ridiculous to push drugs if the patient doesn't want it. It's absolutely insane!

Good morning everyone! Happy Taco Tuesday!

QOTD - I keep looking longingly at a pilates reformer or pilates chair but they 1) stupid expensive and 2) unnecessary since I have more than enough exercise equipment. I know I am unlikely to use them at home as effectively as I do at the pilates studio.

Today I have pilates this morning so I'll do about 90 minutes of work before hand, then I'm meeting some coworkers for lunch by the office (usually I would work at the office but we are not allowed in these days) and then I need to get some stuff done around the house after work.

menu today is

coffee plus half and half X3

TBD on breakfast

either dumplings or tom kha chicken soup

dinner - left over barbacoa

hope everyone has a delightful taco Tuesday!

Good morning QJB and Menu folks. I was released from Isolation as of Midnight and am working today. I feel fortunate that our symptoms were mild. My son has his sense of taste back already, I am still not able to smell a thing. Friday 01/07 was exactly 3 months since I had received the booster. I feel the vaccine did exactly as expected, my symptoms were not severe, and I was not hospitalized.

Minus 7 here this morning, wind chill warnings of -35 until 3 pm.

QOTD - I actually received a gift from my MIL for Xmas , a Yeti Cooler. I have always wanted one for camping and Boating, would not spend the money.

B - Scrambled eggs and cheese

L - Kielbasa and pepperjack

AS- Cukes and Ranch

D - Pork Chops and sauteed brussel sprouts

E - Walk on treadmill
