What's on your Thursday Menu?

Good morning everyone! It's Little Friday! And it's probably a real Friday for me because we are likely to have a snow day tomorrow! I was chatting with my new Superintendent yesterday and he said he is very pro-Snow Day and likes to call it the night before. So I should know by 7pm tonight. Yessss ;)
Grim and I are both feeling better. Still have very slight fevers, and I am still sniffly but I continue to rest negative for COVID, so it is likely just a little cold, brought on from a new work environment.
QOTD: What is your favorite type of yogurt? I love the Fage brand 2% Greek Yogurt. They are thick and creamy and have yummy fruit on the side. They are a little higher in sugar than some of the others, but I like how natural they taste because a lot of the others taste too artificial to me. My favorite flavors are peach and cherry.
Yesterday was not my best with food, but still better than the last few months. I skipped lunch, came home and ate 200 calorie Balanced Break because I was starving, and then didn't have enough calories for my planned dinner. I ended up having soup and a chicken sausage (good choice), but it put me slightly over my calories. Then my brain told me that since I already failed, it would be okay to have a little bit of chocolate. I ended up 200+ calories over my 850 calorie goal.
My plan for "exercise" today is not too intense because I still have a slight fever...but my new school has a big beautiful campus that probably winds about a mile around the three schools, and I haven't explored it much because it's been either freezing or raining since I started. Today should be nice weather, so I plan to take a nice stroll around!

Good mornin JB and all of y'all! Yay for a snow day!
we are cold here this morning and under a wind chill warning until at least noon. Sub zero wind chills as low as -15. Yay. Needless to say we are not getting out.
I don't know if I mentioned this but my best friend was buried on December 28th in the Tacoma/Seattle area. I wish I could of been there. I've been dealing with a lot of feelings with her. It's been hard to be without that close of a friend. Don't get me wrong...I know a lot of great people but she was kind of my person. We could talk about anything and we'd talk for hours. I just so miss that. I suck at making friends because let's face it...I'm a little awkward. I used to think I had to "buy" friendship by giving gifts and that maybe people would like me. I didn't have a close friend at school until 9th grade. I've just really been struggling with missing her. I wouldn't wish her back because she is finally at peace but I am so so sad for me.
I'm exhausted. I haven't been sleeping well...at all. I did manage to get a package ready for Denmark. It's going to cost a little less than I thought it would to ship. A little less than 20 dollars. I was shocked! I hope this lady enjoys what I've made her. She is a mutual friend of my late best friend and I'm sending her two pendants...I'll post a reply with the pics. One is the one I made in my friends honor and one she had wanted to buy for this mutual friend.
QOTD: I love almost all yogurt. The bestest is one I had that was Australian style...it was when I was in Boulder staying with a friend. They don't sell it here of course. I also like Oui(no idea if spelled that right...mornin brain fog). They have a coconut milk one I loved...just full of sugar though.
I've decided to start a pre op diet Saturday. Why Saturday? I have some options I need to use up that I don't want to waste. They are healthy so it's not like I'm goin cray cray. I'm going to do two shakes for meals and a sensible dinner. Increase the amount of veggies I eat. I don't know how long I'll do this for...I'm thinking two weeks tops. I'm going to stop buying certain stuff. I should know by now I have very little will power(WTH ever that is really) and I can't pace myself on most things. I just need to accept that some things need to be off limits. Simple as that. If there aren't in the house then I won't eat them. I lucked out and found some of the chike protein coffee mix for 5 dollars a bag. I got a couple and they are pumpkin spice(not my most fav flavor profile but can't beat that price. They also had the republic of tea tins for 99 cents...I got two of the cinnamon and cardamom and one of the comfort and joy. They had sooooo much good clearance items from the holidays. I also got some bigelow teas for 2 for a $1.
B: JUSt egg, just crack an egg(southwest) and coffee...lots of coffee
L: chike coffee protein shake
D: beef stew
S: cheese stick, baked apple chips and ???

Melody,
Back in my very early Weigh****chers days -- an instructor taught us what they call "red light" foods. As in if they are in the house, you are going to eat them. We still call them that at home. Nacho Cheese Doritos are a red light food for me, so they are not allowed in our house. On very rare occasions, like for a big party or a special treat, we get a bag. But they go out the door with someone at the end of the day. I cannot control myself. Red light. It helped me to identify these things and name them and when I look at the at the store, my brain still says Red Light! Caramel popcorn is my other really big red light food.
Maybe look through your snacking for the last few months and identify the things you can't just have one serving of and make yourself a red light list?
I am rooting for your success!

You are so spot on.
I think I'll work on that today! Thanks for the tip!

Your meme is why I don't make new year's resolutions! Change is hard without the added pressure!
qotd - I love plain Greek yogurt! The tartness does it for me. Add a few chopped nuts and yummo.
im about to bundle up in the 4 degrees and go shovel the driveway so I can drive to Pilates. I hate to create the ice tracks by driving over it before I shovel.
menu today is
coffee plus half and half x3
bacon and cashews
chicken green chili x2 - it's time to pop whatever is left after dinner in the freezer
a couple bites of the bonjou campfire latte pudding (I put a review of this new product on the general board). It's tasty but sweet
have a terrific jr friday
