What's on your Monday Menu?
Good Morning Queen JB and Menuers,
Welcome to 2022 everyone. Is anyone else as excited as me that the holidays are over? I am so glad I got it all the decorations down and I chucked any sweets that were laying around in the garbage. I actually started the pre surgery diet yesterday trying to get down to a lower weight that will give me a little wiggle room and back in those pants I couldn't button last week.
QOTD: I either do 1/2 hour on the treadmill or 3.1 run before work and on Saturdays I do a HITT class. I do try to exercise every day. I used to feel guilty taking a day off but unfortunately, I do not feel guilty anymore.
Accountability: No snacks at all yesterday. I did great. But the holiday was a different story.

Did you see AB try and recreate the ending to Slapshot by stripping down on field and, in the words of Mike Tyson, fading off into Bolivia?

Yes, How crazy is he? I hope he gets the professional help he needs. Today is probably Ben's last day as a Pittsburgh Quarterback. I'll be honest I'm not sad to see him go. But I did wear a nice warm Steeler sweatshirt to commemorate the event.

hi all- well our power went out at 2 am. we have been getting too much rain then wind, then some snow overnight so the trees decided they had enough. Seems there are thousands without in our EMC electric membership range. I keep stalking the website to see the little lego men to see when we will have it back. Once it's daylight DH will hook up the generator and I can have ho****er.. for coffee. until then i will 'deal' with cold brew. I'm camping in a big house until then, using my hot spot to connect to work.
Went to SIL on new years day and now BIL was sick yesterday. So I don't know if he has covid or not. we have not left the house anyway so I'm not sure where he could have been exposed if he does have it.
food has been less than idea. I made a lower sugar tres leches cake for new years that turned out really good.
I also bought what I thought was a box of individually wrapped caramel for a treat and ended up being a 5 pound block of caramel. so needless to say I've eaten some and gave some to SIL/BIL.
QOTD: not much of anything the last 4 -5 months. I was lifting weights 3-4 times a week but stopped and now have 5-6 pounds to lose on top of the other weight i want to lose this year. was thinking to join one of those beachbody or the like and do 20-30 in morning before work that way if i have a bad day and don't want to leave to go to the gym I will have at least done something.

Mornin' All!
drive-by for now because I have to get over to the pool for water aerobics. Hopefully the "January joiners" (newbies who join the gym right after New Year's to deal with their holiday weight gain - and who usually drop out sometime in March) won't flood this particular class, because it's way less crowded than the Aqua Zumba class I've been going to, so it's pretty easy to stay far away from people (I also mask). Other than that, I have to take my mother to her physical therapy appt today - and that's it!
my weight is up this morning for no good reason - crap - this is my big-time monthly weigh-in for my Excel spreadsheet, too. I must have eaten too much sodium yesterday or something (??). Not sure - but it shouldn't be up. Will check again tomorrow. Hopefully it'll be gone within the next day or two.
QOTD: I do some kind of strength-training twice a week (lately, a senior class that uses resistance bands, hand weights, and balls - I like it better than the machines) - and I also do squats and calf raises while I'm brushing my teeth. I also do some kind of cardio about five times a week. In the summer, it's mostly biking - and in the winter, mostly water aerobics and (land) Zumba - but I do cardio dance videos on youtube when I don't have time - or can't make it - to the gym (or if I need a break from biking). I do try to rotate so I don't get sick of any one thing.
B: plain skyr with cranberry/cherry compote. Coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: overnight oats
AS: protein muffin?
D: cauliflower/chickpea curry (no rice)
have a great day, everyone!
The ideal business plan would be to have a big building and outfit it as a gym on January 1. Then on March 16, move all the machines out and replace with a bar and restaurant. St Pat's Day would be the beginning of the eating and drinking phase and then back to a workout center next January 1.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
Now that could be a lucrative business LOL!
