Another double meme today!
Good mornin friends! Hope that you're all doing well on this second day of 2022.
I've been up for a while already and it's still only 2:19. Going to be a long day. Hoping for some naps. My mom got all our Christmas stuff down yesterday spare the outside lights. It was only in the lower teens yesterday so they are still up! lol
I've decided to get serious about my weight. I've let this depression and my brain get the best of me. It's still there...full force, I am taking some power back. I ordered some work books off of eBay for BED to try and help me work through some of my issues. The only person who can change things in that area is me. I'll be using MFP. I thought about the new WW plan. I just don't know enough about it.
No big plans for the day. I over did it physically yesterday and my pain level shows it.
QOTD: while this could be considered a resolution...I personally think it's a little different...I guess because for me a resolution usually has been fo health related stuff. What is a non food non health goal for this year?
I want to learn some Spanish. Our neighbors right across the street are Hispanic and the parents don't speak English well. I would love to be able to communicate better with them and the whole Hispanic community. The culture always fascinates me. I love the art. It would also be a heck of a plus in our community. Plus it's just smart. I also would love to learn some of the Native American languages...I just find it so beautiful but I don't think there is an app or program for that.
B: oatmeal, creamer and coffee
L: 1/2 cup black eyed peas, 1.5 oz ham steak, 1 tbs sour cream and 2 tbs shredded cheese
D: smoked mahi mahi, cooked spinach and maybe a Thai tea
S1: PP shake
S2: undetermined atm.

Morning! It's my last day off! Ahhh! I don't even know where to begin with getting ready. I don't even remember how to get ready for work, lol. But at the minimum, I need to get lunches prepped for the first few days, at least.
I am also going back to pre-planning my meals on MFP. I have continued to use the app, but I have not been putting my meals in first, and I have just been tracking after I eat, and I find that I am increasingly way over my goal. Time to get back to basics.
Melody, I really like the DuoLingo site! You can take classes through an app or on the website. I took Spanish for the first time when we were in lockdown and it was a great way to get the basics, really quickly. They also have a Navajo program!
QOTD: I think my biggest non-health related goal this year is to stay connected to my art. I signed up for a ton of classes on Domestika to keep up my skills and to keep me motivated.
Here is the MFP menu, and I am also committing to 1.5 mile a treadmill run.
- High Weight before LapBand: 200 (2008)
- High Weight before RNY: 160 (2015)
- Lowest post-op weight: 110 (2016)
- Maintenance Weight: 120 (2017-2019)
- Battling Regain Weight: 135 (current)

Ok wow! Thank you for that suggestion! I'll do the free version until I get paid again...the fact that they have Najavo just is so so cool! I did the intro!
I hope you have a great start at your new job tomorrow!

I decided long ago that I am either on a diet or I am gaining weight. I tried calling it a sensible eating plan or new way of life. That never clicked for me. I have to weigh myself every morning, track what I eat, and track my exercise. I bought my first fitness tracker in 2012. So I have had one on my wrist for ten years.
I have had periods where I ate what I wanted and was a couch potato. I just have to pull myself out of that mode and do what it takes to control the weight and get the exercise I need. I have this little statue that was supposed to be my retirement goal. It shows a gray haired lady sitting in a rocking chair. I still do not have gray hair (thanks to my hairstylist) and I still do not own a rocking chair. My Nordic Track takes up too much room for that.
Weigh****chers is always tweaking their plan. I did not even bother learning the newest one. I do find their meetings inspiring. It is a half hour a day that helps keep me motivated. I had a couple of days of eating junk over Christmas and gained six pounds. I packed up all the candy and cookies and gave them to the mission. I am down two pounds this week. I thought it would all be gone, but I have to work harder.
I like starting a new year with new weight loss and exercise goals. I make it into a game and my reward will be some new outfits in the Spring when hopefully they will need to be a smaller size.

Good morning ~ I hope you are able to find all the inspiration you need for your health and to heal, Melody. Fine day today! It's still dark out and I've been happily up since 5. I had a great day yesterday and accomplished so much. I didn't even sit down to eat, literally I stood and ate all meals. I was so sore by dinner I could barely walk upright. Anyway the house is spotless and except the tree (the box is buried in the garage right now), Christmas is officially over. The Traeger was a huge success! OMG, I've never had better tri tip in my life - yes, it was that good. We are so excited to smoke anything that isn't nailed down. It was just so easy and YUM.
Today we are walking the dogs at the park, organize my closet, tackling the mountain of cardboard boxes in the garage, hanging out with my kiddo, football and roasting a ham for dinner. I'm also making eggbeater breakfast casserole for work breakfasts using Kelly's recipe. I ordered some silicon cups and can't wait to use them for JB's air fryer egg bites next week.
QOTD - To continue making emotional self care a priority and stop spending like crazy and save more.
Accountability - yes, I'm doing this to stay mindful and get back to all the things. I didn't drink as much water as I planned, I think I was just that busy. I didn't eat my snack because I was waiting for the tri tip then proceeded to eat it uncontrollably as Rob was cutting it. I probably had more than 4 ounces but man it was a good day to be a carnivore! Other than that, I did great. Looking forward to a nice structured week.
B- coffee, egg, turkey sausage patty
l- triptip
d-ham
s-jerky
I am using MFP for portion control, but I'm just gonna write what I eat here, the photo thing is a pain
Vitamins - I bought extra weekly pill boxes and now have 3 weeks filled and ready to go
Water - I started water delivery - I like it way better than home filtered, never mind bottles. Seeing that big bottle on the stand motives me. I also have a hydro flasks everywhere I need, just like kleenex and lip balm, lol - EVERYWHERE.
Exercise - committed to exercising everyday and at least 31 miles total, which I have no doubt I will accomplish. My goal is to get back to running by the end of January? Today we are walking a mile at the park with the dogs and I'll hike on the treadmill 1.7 miles today.
I'm only going to weight in on Saturday - the scale is a love/hate situation. I made the mistake of weighing today and was so disappointed. It's a marathon, not a sprint.
Have a great day all!

Where can I get this egg beater casserole recipe? I have some and this sounds perfect for work lunches!
I have an egg bite recipe but it's insta pot...they are good!

From Kelly's post the other day:
I would just beat the eggbeaters with some cottage cheese and seasonings (sometimes adding in green/red peppers that I brown in a skillet). I pour into a 13X9 dish and bake at 325 degrees for about 30 mins or so. It's been forever so I need to make some soon.
I plan on using a whole carton of eggbeaters, a cup of LF cottage cheese, half cup of FF mozz, half cup of FF cheddar and I'm flirting with meats... anyway on MFP - 8 servings is 109 calories and 20 grams of protein. Haven't made it yet...I may add 4 ounces ham? I'm kind of winging it - you can add whatever you want. Not sure its 8 servings yet.
What is your instapot egg recipe? I'd love to try that

Mornin' All!
well, a friend originally wanted to meet for coffee this morning, but the roads aren't great (even though we didn't get as much snow as they predicted), it's freezing, and we're both leery of COVID. Even in a highly-vaxxed community, being in a public place which may be somewhat busy, with people taking their masks off to eat and drink, just doesn't sound appealing. There could very well be some unvaxxed people there - or asymptomatic people who are vaxxed. No thanks. She may just come over to my house later this afternoon if the roads are better by then. Or not. Hopefully the roads will be clear by tomorrow because I have to take my mother to an appt. She actually has several this month. Ugh. I really wish she would occasionally use the rides that her senior apt complex provides since she seems to have so many medical appts. I guess she thinks that since I'm retired, I must sit around all day twiddling my thumbs. Oh well. Whatever.
nothing on tap for today other than making an Indian curry in my instant pot. And the usual reading (which I often don't get around to doing) - and I really need to spend at least a little time cleaning.
QOTD: I promised myself over a year ago that I'd spend 30 minutes a day learning Italian. I'll sometimes start doing that again and do it for a few days - and then I stop and a month or two will go by before I pick it up again. I REALLY need to be more disciplined! I also need to spend 30 minutes a day cleaning. Thirty minutes is not that bad - and in time, it'll make a huge dent. I'm not sure why motivating myself to actually do this is so difficult. But I guess those are my two resolutions, even though I don't make new year's resolutions.
B: may just have a protein shake since I'm not hungry. Maybe a chocolate mint one (!!). Coffee with half & half
MS: plain skyr with cranberry/cherry compote
L: overnight oats
AS: L&F yogurt, skinny bagel with light cream cheese
D: cauliflower/chickpea curry
have a great day, everyone!
