What's on your Tuesday Menu?
Good morning! JB, I hope your new job works out. Will you be more local than you were previously (I didn't see if you talked about it in this thread)?
Today Mike and I are going out to his Cape Cod house on the "Outer" Cape (mine is on the "Upper" Cape). He needs to get some clothing and rake leaves. We might go bowling as well and will probably go out to dinner. Though we usually split what we eat, I am eating more calories than I should. My weight has stayed the same for the last 2-3 months but it is at least 20 pounds more than it should be. That is a bit because of the medication I have been taking for my high BP, but not entirely. I have had BP issues for at least 20 years. It was much better for the first couple of years after WLS, but now I am battling it again. I am seeing a cardiologist now who has me on a ****tail of 4 medications. Arghhh...
QOTD: Coffee???
TSS: 5 years, 9 months
B: Coffee!!!
L: sandwich split with Mike (I remove one side of the bread)
D: Out - Likely a 1/2 burger with truffle fries (yes, I know)
S: string cheese

Are many restaurants still open on the Outer Cape?

A handful, LOL. And no problem getting a place to sit. Very different from my part of Cape Cod where it is much less seasonal.

Mornin' All!
QJB - you will be one of those *****ally enjoys retirement once the time comes (some people don't deal with it well - my mother, for example. She lasted all of four months before she went out and found another job! I'm thinking DH will be another one...). Of course, if I ever have to, I'll look for a job - but hopefully I won't ever have to. I LOVE not having one!
I took that leftover half a cheesecake over to the movie-viewing get together yesterday afternoon. One woman took a freaking quarter of it! Unbelievable - but I'm glad the thing is gone. I didn't need that sitting around anymore. Even a small slice every day would put me over on calories. It should be a lot easier to stay within my range now with that thing out of the way...
I was planning to go to Zumba class this morning before the snow hit, but my mother came down with some medical issue yesterday, so she has a doctor's appt at 9:00. She doesn't drive anymore, so I have to take her - so so much for the Zumba class :-( Hopefully the snow will hold off long enough for me to go to my strength-training class at 11:30, though. Otherwise I'm going to be seriously bummed. And BTW - thanks to those of you *****sponded to my comment about resistance bands the other day. I ordered a complete set of Rogue Fitness resistance tubes (with handles) - they're slated to arrive Friday. YAY!!!
otherwise, the snow is going to fly today - all day starting later on this morning - so I'll be battening down the hatches and probably just doing some reading today. I also plan to make something in my Instant Pot - maybe a vegetable curry or some soup.
QOTD: raspberries! (although those already grow on bushes - so close enough!). I eat them all the time. I got some cuttings from someone a year or two ago so I could grow my own, but most of them were devoured by rabbits, and the two we managed to hang on to thanks to the chicken wire we put up to keep the rabbits away didn't make it (one was cut down by DH who assumed it was dead - but I think it would have come back in the spring if he hadn't hacked it down!!)
B: plain skyr with cranberry sauce, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: probably a chickpea/miso sandwich and some cole slaw with Chinese-style dressing
AS: protein muffin
D: vegetable curry or soup (if the latter, I might add a skinny bagel - or some protein depending on the kind of soup..)
have a great day, everyone!

I was trying to do that math today and calculate if I could retire if I promised to never ever buy anything from Amazon again, lol. I'm so ready.
