What's on your Wednesday Menu?
Once I was in a department store and my 3 year old son wanted a light saber toy. It was $16 and was just a tube of cardboard with a flashlight attached. When I said No, he threw a fit of lying in the middle of the floor aisle and screaming and crying.
After he settled down and still did not get the toy, we were in the checkout line. The man in front of us was buying the light saber for his son. After they left, my son looked at me and said, that father is foolish with his money.
I remember another time when Kevin told someone that he believed in Santa, but a bunny that brings eggs was ridiculous. We really remember and treasure some of the great things that kids say. I can see your son telling the neighbor that his parents could not afford all of those things. Sometimes I used too much credit to get things that he wanted. When he left home at 18, I remember telling my husband that I wished I had done more for him. My husband asked me what else I possibly could have bought him and I could not think of anything.

Sending you some extra love! The holidays can be the worst when dealing with grief. Esp of that magnitude.

Good morning ~ I think I have the paper clip version too! But, no, it's all me and my choices which of course suck at the moment, but I'm trying not to completely blow it... Salt seems to be my focus right now, I can't get enough salty foods. Is that a sign of some kind? Sweets made w/regular sugar are not appealing at all right now and make my stomach churn. Considering sweets and candy are everywhere, its a good thing.
I can't believe Christmas is 3 days away! I have a ton of wrapping to do and no idea what my gift wrap supply status is - I haven't' even checked.
QOTD - Yes, I totally believed and for me it was magical. My son did too, I can remember him sleeping on the couch one year, intent on catching Santa - so sweet. When he figured it out, I told him if you don't believe, you don't receive with a wink... He played along and still does to this day. I think it's sweet.

QOTD- Yes I totally believed. When I was really young there is a picture of me and my family in the living room with Santa. I was so excited that I bunched up my nightgown in the back. Little did I know it was actually my uncle. One of my Dads brothers that we rarely saw dressed as Santa.
My roommate may come and visit me. Since there is snow coming his class for bus driver is moved to Jan 3, so if he can find someone to cover for the person he care gives for he can come here. He'll let me know today. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Rain today with flood advisories, not so much for where I am but other parts of the island. It's supposed to rain for the next few days. I just hope there is a dry stretch so I can hang my clothes out to dry. The rain has cooled it down so I'm not complaining.
The earliest I could get in to see the eye doctor was February 2, but I really need to have this done and I need new glasses. I sat on my sunglasses and they are not the same, and my BFF in Oregon is the only one I really trust to do the adjustments on my glasses and to help me pick out new ones. I'll have to take some pictures and have her give me an opinion.
My Seahawks lost again, I'm totally giving up on them for the year. The Ducks play on the 29th in a bowl game against Oklahoma and are the underdog, so I don't expect much. Football is the only sport I watch and only the teams I like, so I don'****ch everything. It's just sad that I'll have to wait until next year for anything good to happen.
Have a great day everyone!

Julia, we were actually hoping to go to the Alamo Bowl, because DD's boyfriend's parents live outside San Antonio, but Baylor outplayed expectations and made the Sugar Bowl. We will go out with friends who have a daughter at OU to watch the game.
