Thank you! I have bone spurs on all my vertebrae in my lumbar spine...some worse than others. I'm hoping he fixed it as much as he could. The surgery for the pain pump will likely be pretty hard on me too but it'll be worth the struggle to feel better in the end. Scar tissue can be such a bother! I guess I make scar tissue rather "well" lol. I'm so glad it's worked for your DH! That's fantastic!

Good morning, everybody!

Yesterday was another tough, long day at work. I have noticed that the calls are starting to end with holiday wishes, which usually means that people don't plan on calling back. Hopefully today will be at a more moderate pace and tomorrow will be easy.

The fam is heading into the Starbucks Reserve Store on Michigan Avenue today. I won't be able to go because I do still have work. I went a couple of years ago and posted pictures.

Yesterday we went to see Spiderman (except DD stayed home and watched football). It was pretty good. I don't remember all of the villains, but I definitely remembered Do**** and Green Goblin. It was the first time I was in a theater in quite some time.

QOTD: Like Kelly, I was all in. Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy also.

Breakfast: salmon

Lunch: Turkey sandwhich

Dinner: Hello Fresh

Have a great day, all!

Mornin'!

I have to take the cat to (hopefully his last) ophthalmology appt today. He's had a corneal ulcer for the last three months that is taking FOREVER to heal (probably due to his age and the fact he's on prednisone - normally, they heal up in a month or so). It'll be a huge relief if everything is A-OK since he's now getting eyedrops four times a day, which is a huge pain. So...fingers crossed!! Afterward I'm going for a COVID test (I've been a bit headache-y and congested the past couple of days, which hopefully is just a cold, but given that the Omicron thing is starting to take off here, I'd rather know since it might affect our family Christmas dinner on Saturday). Later today I have to take my mom to her PCP's office for a blood draw. But...that's it. The one IT issue I've been struggling with was resolved last night - the stuff I have remaining to do aren't difficult, so I should be able to get it knocked out sometime today.

QOTD: I'm an oldest child, so I believed up until first or second grade when some of the kids in our class let the others in on the "secret". I think I may have enlightened my younger sister, so she knew much earlier on.

B: WW lemon/blueberry yogurt pie, coffee with half & half

MS: not sure. I'll be OK protein-wise today, so maybe not a shake. I'd rather have solid food than a shake anyway! If I'm hungry, I'll take a protein bar with me to the COVID test, I guess.

L: protein chocolate "mousse" with light Cool Whip and raspberries

AS: protein muffin?

D: the two chicken skewers I never got around to eating yesterday, plus coleslaw with Chinese-style dressing

Have a great day, everyone!

Good morning all!

Yesterday was good mixed with bad. I got my term paper back from my flaky professor and got an A so that was a huge weight off my shoulders. The bad - I fell last trying to clean up a spilled drink and had trouble getting up. Luckily, my ego was the only thing that was injured.

QOTD: What do you mean, there's no Santa? JK. Being raised Jewish, I know that Hannukah Harry is real and Santa is a figment of my imagination cause he never brought me anything. See, I got jokes this morning.

B: Dannon light and fit blueberry yogurt, banana.

L: Greenridge Naturals Applewood Ham.

D: Chicken Salad and some veggie

S: turkey sausage stick and light string cheese

HW: 371 SW(8/9/21): 324 CW: 215. 0 lbs til goal of skin reduction surgery. I'm still looking for a new plastic surgeon.

Good job on the A. When I was in grad school I expected A's on all my papers and tests. If I didn't get an A I was like "What the f*@k!"

Glad to hear you weren't injured in your fall.

Good morning!

Yesterday was surprisingly a very busy day. Today is all about wrapping up work for the week and our group does a potluck and a white elephant exchange. I participate in the potluck, but I don't "do Christmas", so I man the phones while they have a great time. My Dad is arriving this afternoon and I am very much looking forward to getting a hug from him.

QoTD: Yes, I believed. And my kids did for a good while. In about First grade, a mean adult neighbor told my oldest son that there was no Santa Claus. My kid looked at him and said "Are you crazy? My parents can't afford all those presents!". So while we were in credit card debt up to our ears, the kids were have a rocking Christmas. We were young and dumb and I have so many treasured memories of those years. Looking back, I am so grateful for some of the dumb things we did with them.

This is a super emotional week for me. So I am trying not to drink my feelings. 'Cause we all know I'd prefer to drink 'em then eat 'em! But I am behaving. Lots of teary eyes though. When I can focus those eyes, I look forward to January 6. That's when things seem to start to settle back down in my heart and tuck away the roller coaster feelings. I miss that kid.

Menu

B: P3

L: Potluck. but I know for sure there is a charcuterie plate -- so I am going to be just fine!

D: Maui ribs and rice with sweet kale salad

Snack. Wine. LOL. Keeping it real.

Peace Everybody!
