What's on your Saturday menu?

Good mornin everyone. Hope that you're having a wonderful weekend so far!

I hurt really bad last night. I've not been sleeping great but actually ended up getting an hour and a half's extra sleep. I got up around 4. I had been up and down a lot but I have been getting up around 2ish.

I made my casserole last night and it was so good! The meat was so so good. I put achiote in it with a little bit of orange juice...cumin, smoked paprika and ancho chili powder. It was tasty. I have some left over meat that'll be my lunch or dinner with an almond flour tortilla. I may make some Spanish "rice" with cauliflower to put up today. Think I'll make my own up. It was my first time using achiote and it won't be my last.

Feeling completely overwhelmed tbh. Strangely calm in ways but overall a stress ball. I've got a lot to do this weekend.

I'm unsure of plans for the day that my mom has. I'd like to get cleaning done. I need to put up my cricut sometime this weekend. Get the rest of my Christmas presents wrapped. I just have some pajamas and house shoes for my mom...oh and a box of hazelnut coffee pods. I already bought her a nice quilt for her bed that she picked out and a couple of shams. I also made her a few iron shirts that she's already gotten. The last shirt I've been waiting on to do for my brother isn't here yet...should've been here on the 15th...still stuck in the same place since then. My mom may just have to do it if we don't get it by Monday.

I'm really tired so it's going to be a long 3 1/2 days. I have to be at the surgery center at 11 so it's going to be late in the evening till I get back home.

QOTD: when you get really cold what is the easiest way to warm up?

I'd have to say something hot to drink...usually coffee but I also like tea too. Not much of a hot chocolate fan unless it's marshmallows with a bit of hot chocolate... lol

B: JUST egg, Colby Jack cheese, turkey sausage and coffee

L: leftover casserole

D: almond flour tortilla with the meat leftover and a tbs of cheese...oh and cilantro and a squeeze of lime juice

S: Thai tea with a couple of tbs of whole milk and ???

I forgot to share this yesterday. We got a new blanket for our pup Skippy...she loves the soft blankets and cuddles/wraps herself in them...the cats had other ideas.

Good morning everyone!

That cat pic is hilarious. Your cats are cute too even if they did steal Skippy's new blanket.

I loved using achiote for the first time and the flavor it provided. It was for cochinita pibil reminiscent of Mexico travels.

I'm having issues sleeping lately, as well. I've been up for a few hours already but am just using the time to endlessly scroll the webs while watching Law and Order SVU in the background.

Thanks for the well wishes for my father. He's resting comfortably in the hospital and disappointed that he has to go to rehab afterwards. We may bring him a treat today just for being a trooper about the hospitalization. My love of food started with him when I was young. A lot of his health problems are related to him being morbidly obese. I'm trying to change my ways now so I don't go through the same health troubles throughout the rest of my life.

QOTD: I pull on a nice hoody when I'm cold.

B: Dannon light and fit coconut yogurt, banana, TJ coffee, unsweetened almond milk, sf vanilla, stevia

L: Some type of fish & veggie at a seafood restaurant. Meeting up with my Mom and sister.

D: 2 Chicken Skewers and some type of veggie

HW: 371 SW(8/9/21): 324 CW: 215. 0 lbs til goal of skin reduction surgery. I'm still looking for a new plastic surgeon.

Mornin' Weekenders!

well last night was a total blow-out foodwise. I don't even want to know how many calories I inhaled or what the scale says this morning (so I'll skip the scale for a couple of days). Plus too much sugar - I felt really light-headed the second half of the evening. When will I learn? Otherwise, the party was fun. Lots of interesting people and a beautiful house. The couple moved here from Milwaukee a year ago to be closer to their kids. He's a retired neurologist, she's a retired school librarian. I really liked them as well as the other guests (many of whom I've run into at other socials - and/or know from various committees). We have another social tonight - a cookie party that the host throws annually, and that we've gone to most years. Part of me wants to just skip it since I can't afford anymore eating events for awhile - but then the other part says I can always jus****ch myself. But I know how that often turns out...

otherwise, DH wants to go to some a capella concert later on this morning, so I may tag along. I also really need to get some IT-related stuff done this weekend for one of my other organizations, since I've really been dragging my feet on it. I should probably also get some exercise sometime today.

QOTD: I don't get cold very often - in fact, I usually have the opposite problem - but when I do get cold, I usually put on warm clothes and get under a blanket. Although I'm usually throwing off the latter at some point since i can't stand being too hot!!!

B: may just have a protein shake. Plus coffee and half & half (already had the coffee)

MS: cheesecake-flavored yogurt pie with blueberry compote

L: (probably a later one) - egg salad sandwich on keto bread

AS: protein muffin and light yogurt (??)

D: something to really fill me up so I won't go hogwild at the party - maybe a cup of cottage cheese? Or a couple of pieces of peanut butter toast?

have a great day, everyone!

Good morning ~ LOVE that meme and your kitties - so cute!! I really hope you get some relief from this surgery, even if it is just one leg. Although I've had a few sciatica episodes that lasted about 2 weeks and made me crazy from the pain, I can't even imagine how painful it must be for you without any relief plus your other back issues.

Yesterday was so crazy that I didn't have time to get on here and post. Today we are walking the dogs at the park, getting our booster shots, grocery shopping and then I'm getting my hair done. Instead of staying blonde, I'm going 'bronde' which is more like my natural hair color if you don't count the gray ones. After that, I'm laying low in case I have a lousy reaction. Hoping it's no more than soreness at the site and a headache. Football and a fire tonight.

QOTD - socks, hoodies or sweaters and a steaming cup of hot tea

B- coffee - not sure yet

L- in and out protein style burger

D - philly cheese steak w/ peppers and mushrooms

S -protein forward - no carbs!!

I was expecting a reaction like the one I had to shot #2 (i.e., flu-like symptoms the following day that just lasted for that day), but nope. I felt a little light-headed the following day after the booster, but that was it - and I'm not sure if was from the booster or something else. At any rate, other than a sore arm for a couple of days, that was pretty much it.

Hope you both feel fine after the booster shots. I was a little sore, tired, and achy. It lasted all of a day, no big deal.

I had no reaction from the booster, was expecting one but it didn't happen. Hope your experience is the same.

Good morning!

I went off the rails last night with ****tails -- and ate very little food. So the scale isn't mad at me, but my body is a bit unhappy. Not hungover, just hungry for some real fuel. I shall concentrate on that today. Our plans for this late afternoon got cancelled, so we have an unexpected 36 hour window of no schedule. I am going to take advantage and work out a menu for the week and get some groceries in this house to feed the family that is coming. I just cannot get excited about planning a menu for Christmas Eve and Christmas. Not my favorite time of year, as you know. But I've got my pad and pencil right here, and that is going to start happening next.

QoTD: Layers! Undershirt, t shirt, sweater, sweatshirt. Of course, this is also my daily dress code because I get bone cold so fast. Always have, even when I was really heavy.

Menu is up in the air. I'm thinking of trying to see House of Gucci this afternoon. So I will work it out as I go. What I am not doing is having an Old Fashioned!!!

Peace Everybody!
