Thank Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry, lol

i do love cornbread in an iron skillet. I don't make it anymore but used to add Chiles and cheddar to it.

At least 30 years ago I was in a diner in San Fransisco that was a converted trolley car and so cute. They served cornbread with chiles and cheddar and I was ready to move to San Francisco so I could eat it all the time. Something else I am going to bake soon.

Mornin' All!

I had a busy couple of days, so I never got around to posting yesterday since i didn't login until last night (I read all your posts from yesterday, though!). Today I have one of my film discussion groups, and then right after that, I have to host a Zoom lecture for one of my organizations. It's supposed to start snowing this afternoon and continue through 'til tomorrow morning, but it's mostly only going to hit the northern 2/3 of the state (I'm in the south - so we hopefully won't get much!!).

I've had on-again, off-again GI distress the last couple of days, so I didn't eat anything after the luncheon yesterday. I'd ordered the pork entree because the veg one didn't sound very appealing, and I had two thin pieces before I felt like I'd just ingested a brick. Not sure if it was because I'm not used to eating meat (and that dense protein is super filling!), or if it was part of this pattern I've had the last few days. Anyway, I went to bed around 9:00 and was in the bathroom around 11:00. Nothing in my stomach to come up since it'd been almost 12 hours since I'd eaten, but still..ugh. I took some Zofran (leftover from my facelift) and some antacid product that also controls gas (I think I got sick because of gas in my intestines - I was also super bloated), and felt better within about 20 minutes. I feel OK now, but I'm not going to pu**** today. I just had a protein shake for breakfast. The woman who's hosting the film group is making jambalaya for us, but I may take something along just in case. Something bland. The good news is, I'm down 3 lbs since Wednesday! (I'm sure most of that is water...)

QOTD: like some others, I feel a kind of pressure in my chest. I know if I continue to eat after I start feeling that, I'm going to be S-O-R-R-Y....

B: protein shake

L: maybe jambalaya - or maybe something bland. Not sure. I'll decide whether or not to take the risk once i get there...

AS: depends on how I'm feeling

D: maybe Kelly's egg salad on 35-calorie bread

have a great day, everyone!

This is me and my mother in the lounge at her senior apt complex around this time of year (popped up as a memory on FB the other day). It was from three or four years ago.
