TWO. MORE. DAYS. (omg)
Ok I suck, I didn't make it to the party. I got dragged into a crazy thing right before I was about to leave that will have repercussions for a lot of people and I wanted to be sure I didn't just leave it with no one to care. I know, I know... But I really am going to stick to just 8 hour days today and tomorrow. Then they will shut off my email on Saturday so I'm out whether I like it or not, lol.
We woke up to about an inch of snow! It's very pretty and hopefully won't be a pain to drive in.
QOTD: Do you like soup? I should have it more often! I really like so many different types, especially tomato based soups, but I just don't remember it as an option too often.
Ok remember how I had wine and cheez-its for dinner on Tuesday? That was health food compared to last night. Sigh.
B: Protein Coffee & TJs Eggwich
... the rest of the day is super unplanned. Lunch out with a work friend, and I can't even think about dinner. I don't have much in the house that doesn't take a lot of prep and I don't see myself doing it, so I might stop at the grocery store on the way home. Maybe soup??

Oh snow! For me, I love the first snow of the season, which should be here soon. It's by snow event #2 that I'm ready for summer.
QOTD: Soup, there it is. I can go for a nice chicken matzoh ball soup but also could fancy cream of mushroom. I haven't tried the mostly fat free cream of mushroom but feel like I'll get to know it this winter.
B: Dannon light and fit coconut yogurt, banana, TJ coffee, unsweetened almond milk,, sf vanilla, stevia.
L: chicken salad.
D: chicken bratwurst & some type of veg.

Funny story about matzoh ball soup. My best friend grew up on her mom's cooking which she assumed was good. I mean, she's got a nice Jewish mom who loved to cook, so it's got to be the best, right? I met her in college and she was so excited when her mom came and brought us her matzoh ball soup. It was literally awful. The most bland stuff I had ever had. So I took her to a real NY Jewish deli and she tried "real" matzoh ball soup for the first time and it opened her eyes, haha. In the last 25 years she has slowly come to realize that her mom is in fact, a terrible cook. That soup was the beginning of the end.

I think most people think their parent who cooks is the best coo****il you experience a real excellent cook. My mom was a meat and potato kinda cook. it was good but my DH is not a fan of this kind of cooking so I rarely make a meat (e.g. roast) and potato dinner.

Eek! Two more days...I bet you're on the edge of your seat so to speak.
Good morning everyone. Our neighbor bailed out last night. He's in some serious doodoo. I feel kind of bad for him...because he is just so so stupid. 99% of me feels it's well deserved because a lot of his stupidness is chosen. That's a pet peeve of mine...willful ignorance. Unless he cops a plea deal he's looking at 2-10 years because he apparently had fentanyl laced meth. He ran from the cops at first, I'm sure to avoid the impoundment of his vehicle.
Today I'll be cleaning and making candy. Fudge, peanut patties, pecan brittle and some cornflake candy thing my mom wanted. The only thing tempting me is the pecan brittle. I love brittle and pecans and cinnamon AND sugar. Ugh. I'm making peanut butter and chocolate fudge which is really good as I make fudge really well. It's not as tempting to me as it's just SO SO SWEET. I usually test the peanut butter with a knife tip to make sure it is ok...the chocolate sounds not good at all. Esp without nuts as my SIL is allergic to pecans and my mom hates walnuts(nuts I know lol). We had a very hard time finding raw peanuts. We had to get them in bulk type way.
My arm where I got the booster is so sore and it's hot to the touch. Just like the second shot. It makes sleeping interesting. It is so worth it though! Numbers are horrific here...most people won't wear masks or even respect distancing. I'm really worried about it all.
Food ended up not being really great last night...peanut butter was had and a handful of chips. Oh and some peppermint candy. I'll try to be better today but I know I'll try the brittle so I'll try and work it in.
My niece Riley's birthday is the 12th(she is a 12/12/12 baby!) and my brother's is the 15th so we're having a party over here for them Saturday or Sunday. It'll probably just be us and my brother's MIL. I'm going to make a cheesecake...she wanted a dragon theme but that's hard to find so her second choice was a unicorn theme. MUCH easier to find.
QOTD: I love soup and stews even more. My grandma made THE BEST potato soup ever. It was simple but I've never been able to make it as good and now I don't make it because of the carbs. I've made really good cauliflower soup that was very similar. I love beans and chili too. The only soup I tend to not like is super spicy stuff...it seems it either burns my mouth like a chemical burn or I get raging heartburn. I think I have an allergy problem to the capsaicin.
B: 4 tbs JUST egg, cheese and coffee
L: probably a frozen dinner
D: I might actually have the salmon tonight or cauliflower soup as that sounds really good!
S: ???

This is how I got it. DH let his guard down. It is not fun. Even though my case was super mild It still screwed up a lot for me. I missed thanksgiving, My birthday, my mammogram, have to change appointment. It is awful. All I can say is when in public wear a mask. It may not seem like much but it doesn't hurt to wear it, and if there is a slight chance it helps it is worth it.
Had the fellow DH was around not tested positive I never would have tested it was that mild. That is another reason it is spreading. People are ignoring the mild symptoms and continuing going on with daily life. It took me over a week to loose my taste and smell that put the nail in the coffin for me. I was fortunate that I had started wearing a mask and staying away from people as soon as my little cough started.

I wear my mask whenever we go out...you are so right! I'm glad your case was mild.

Numbers are terrible here and deaths are back up to a scary level, as well. I personally know three people who tested positive this week. Its scary out there.

I still use hand sanitizer every time we get in the car.

Two more days, two more days! My chant for those of us just waiting for the weekend and for QJB for the end to this job! Yay!
QOTD - I love soups but I don't really eat them because of the no liquid with your food thing; I do make an A-MAZ-ING cream of roasted tomato soup that even people that don't like tomato soup ask me to make for them. It only makes a crockpot full so I only make it for groups so I haven't had it since winter 2019.
Yesterday's trek to the office was a train wreck, more than an hour to get there, everyone else I was meeting ended up not coming in. We'll try again in January!
We have a big virtual conference today so I'll be off camera, listening in mode all day and I will be able to multi task and then tonight I"m meeting friends for dinner and a concert.
menu
coffee plus half and half X 4 (will have one in the afternoon so I can get through to the concert)
GF English muffin plus PB
Yogurt
Ever Roast Chicken
TBD on dinner; might do the Shepards pie and eat around the potatoes.
Have a great day everyone!
