I (mostly) stuck to my plan yesterday for eating, so that's a step in the right direction, right? I just started listening to Atomic Habits - he talks a lot about focusing on our systems rather than goals, which makes sense to me. Just started the book though, we shall see what resonates for me.

8:30 - coffee and... I don't know! I haven't made eggs bites this week

11:30 - yogurt, chia seeds, raspberries

2:30 - protein shake, apple

6 - leftovers

8:30 - hummus, crackers, walnuts

There is truth in that statement! The one that resonated for me was The Power of Habit. I will have to check Atomic Habits out.

Hi all

i was MIA yesterday, had to drive to TN for work. it was good but I left at 6:30 AM and didn't get home till 9 due to meetings then a 'friend/new boss' dinner. so anyway i didn't eat that great there was bread, and pizza toppings, and 3 chicken wings and a protein bar. and lots of water. well, i guess the worst thing was the bread.

Today is probably a hodgepodge of leftovers: chicken sloppy joes, splenda glazed carrots, leftover roasted chicken wings...

QOTD: we have 3 rescues but one dog Zooey that 'found' us. DH was in this auto body shop and this dog just ran into the office and starting licking him. she apparently had been left loose with her brother (who was caught and adopted by humane society) and DH said can't we try to find her owners? well apparently this was us. she was about 3-4 and never fixed and had worms. She is a great dog.

One summer day my husband told me that their were cat paw prints all over the truck that he left parked outside at night. I asked him what he wanted to do about it. He said that he wanted to buy catfood for the cat. He started feeding the stray cat on the patio. It would come and eat the food then run away. Nobody could get close to it.

Joe really wanted a house cat so I ended up getting Gracie from a rescue a few months later.

About six months later, I heard a cat meowing at the back door. It was a dark December night and in the middle of a blizzard. When I opened the door, the stray cat was there. He had been in a fight or attacked. He had cuts and bleeding all over his body. Part of one ear and his left cheek was pretty much gone. I took him inside and set up a box with blankets, food, water and a space heater in the sunroom. I told Joe that the cat would probably not make it until morning.

The next morning, I put him in a carrier and took him to the vet. They kept him about a week and charged me about a thousand dollars for treatment and boarding. I decided to keep him and named him Danny Paul. At first he stayed in the sunroom. But Gracie kept going to the door and trying to be friends with him.

I finally wrapped him in a blanket and took him into the house. The two of them went wild jumping on things and chasing each other around the house. I had to buy Feliway, which calms cats down. Danny and Gracie were companions for a long time. When Danny was about eight, he got very thin over about a week of time. When I took him to the vet, she said he had cancer and would not survive an operation.

I took him home but he got so sick and weak, that I ended up having him put to sleep after another week. I still miss him.

bless you for taking him in. I'm so sorry he had cancer - but it sounds like he had a good life with you - he never would have had those years if it weren't for you!!

Good Morning all! JB- go to the party! I missed yesterday because I took the day off. Aside from the 3 of us in the department having a cold and getting through payroll on Monday I also had "stuff" to deal with. She's fine, but someone hit Em when she was on her home from rehearsal on Monday night. So yesterday we dealt with getting the rental all set up and getting her car towed from here to the shop. Of course, to add to an already stressful situation, the person was driving with an expired registration/and uninsured. Thankful, no injuries though.

QOTD: No strays that I can think of, maybe my cat when I was about 4-5 but I'm sure.

TSS: 7 years 3 months

B: SF latte, persimmon, Quaker protein/fiber oatmeal and turkey sausage

D: Trader Joe's breadless breakfast sandwich, chompie's toast, sliced orange/banana, and 2 squares dark chocolate

ES: Greek yogurt

E: Still taking it easy with this cold so resting. The headache and soreness are hanging on.

I'm so sorry to hear about Em's accident. Even though she wasn't injured, that's always so upsetting!!!
