Goooooooood Morning everyone! Who is working today? I am technically supposed to be off (I told them I was taking a "comp day" from working on Saturday) but I ended up scheduling a bunch of meetings over zoom... No biggie, I am very happy not to have to drive and I don't have too much to prep for tomorrow, since we are going to mom's instead of hosting :)
QOTD: Related to the meme... are you the only one in your family who has struggled with weight? My mom and I both had RNY. She is doing great and doesn't seem to struggle or obsess about it as much as me, post-op. But we are the only ones in our family who have struggled with weight that I can think of--everyone else seems to have a normal metabolism.
Food was on point again yesterday.

Good Morning!
half way thru the week.. vacay in 11 days 5 hours! I'm assuming I wasn't chosen for that opportunity - which is a bit disappointing.. but I like to look at it like it just wasn't in the cards for me!
QOTD: no. My mother struggles with her weight and till chooses to attempt diet after diet and lose and gain more etc. She was most unhappy when she found out I was having surgery (we no longer speak, since about a year before surgery.. one of my siblings let it slip out when she kept pushing .. we have a tough history) in addition to my mom, basically her entire side of the family struggles with weight and diabetes. I regret nothing about my surgery and would totally recommend anyone who's even remotely interested to go to an information session!
b: fairlife latte, oatmeal, PB and protein powder
s: egg whites, salsa, cheddar, avocado
l: salad w ground beef
S: babybel w crackers
d: meatballs & spaghetti squash
e: upper body today. :)

Sorry to hear that you have a tough relationship with your mom.
I hope that opportunity is still an option!

Good mornin everyone!
It promises to be a very long day as I've got so much to do. My head is already spinning. I'm about to get started. I need to toast the GF bread for my stuffing. Then I'm making another Virginia peanut pie. I've got to clean a bit, I'm not going overboard. I decided to wait until Friday to steam mop as it'll get stuff on it after we cook I'm sure. I made the cheesecake and it's the prettiest cheesecake I've ever made. It's just a plain cheesecake that I altered a little bit. The crust was made with apple snap cookies. My mom is going to make an apple topping today. I'm also making a very simple caramel sauce. I might make the pumpkin pie this evening...or at least some time today.
we are doing a bacon wrapped Dijon boneless turkey breast and the traditional bone in turkey breast. A ham. For 7 people it's a lot of food!
QOTD: mostly everyone in my family has struggled with weight. My grandpa had a great metabolism though!
food will be all over the place!

Good morning! Technically I'm working today, but I'm at home and we have an "early release" at 2pm. I feel like that term is so weird for a job. Busy and I do have to run into my office for like 10 minutes to approve payroll. Annoyingly I can't access our accounting/payroll software from home. DH will also get to leave work early and we have some cleaning up around the house that needs to be done before our Thanksgiving guests arrive (it's only my parents, his mom, and my aunt - so it isn't like they don't know how our house normally is, but still...) - fun times.
I have a telemed check in this morning with the doctor I'm working with from the Comprehensive Weight and Wellness program. I'm feeling good about my progress - but, damn, I forgot that normal weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week and not a DAY like during the early days post-op. I miss that!
QOTD: ugh, unfortunately my mom's side of the family especially struggles with weight and eating issues. As you know, my aunt just had WLS 3 weeks ago, my other aunts both yo-yo, same with my sister, etc. My parents were both fairly stable for a long time, but my dad had to have heart bypass a few years ago and since then they've made a huge health and lifestyle shift and they're both quite slim now, BUT it takes work and they obsess a little. On the other hand, DH's family doesn't do any of this and I hope Busy got those genes. He's a person who can turn down a cookie if he "already brushed his teeth." Meanwhile, I'm like - give me the cookie! I'll brush again!
8:30 - coffee, eggs
11:30 - yogurt, chia seeds, raspberries
2:30 - protein shake, carrots
6 - Instant Pot Pasta, at DH's request
8:30 - rice cake, pb, nuts
Hope everyone has an awesome holiday!

Morning everyone! Happy Hump day or Holiday if you are off today!
QOTD - my family is a mix of heavy and slim people; the older generation were non talkers about anything important so have no idea what anyone's path was. I do have one cousin that had WLS about a year and a half after I did; I helped her with tips during recovery but only when/if she asked.
Today I am taking my middle nephew to the WW1 museum in KC; it will be so much fun. His sister said no, she'd rather sleep than listen to the two of history nerds geek out. That's fair, so I think she and I and my sis will do something girly on Friday...she mentioned Black Friday shopping and I told her I didn't love her enough for that, lol.
Menu today is up in the air, I know there will be coffee and I'll have cheddar cheese before I leave the house; otherwise lunch out and then dinner will be during prep for tomorrow so BLTs from the chopping of veggies, making of the snack platter.
Have a great day everyone!
