P.S. that sweet potato recipe I mentioned also had brown sugar in it - so I'll use Swerve brown "sugar"...

I miss Aqua Zumba so much! The only place offering it locally is the Y, which was a $%)!show pre-COVID and now is even worse, so I don't feel comfortable there AT ALL.

I didn't go for a long time, but I'm back. Our county has a mask mandate, and most people are really good about it. Masks are required inside the Y except for in the pool, where they're optional - some people do wear them in the pool, most don't - so I get in the back as far away from other people as I can (and I'm one of the people who wears a mask in the pool). Our county has a super high vaccination rate - and it's even higher for people over 65 (97%, IIRC) - so I go to the morning classes, since pretty much everyone there is over 65.

QB Congrats on the job! 30 min commute is much better.

I am working Thanksgiving and not cooking. However They feed us Thanksgiving Dinner and my work friends will bring me in some of theirs so I will be in turkey for days. I work in a 24-7 environment and we are always on, so I will be working Christmas. Which is fine, it is my choice, so my co workers with children can have it off. My husband works at the same place, different department, but he works the same hours, so he will work it too.

Menu, not a clue, off to the doctor and the the grocery so there will be choices.

When I worked bedside nursing the holidays were always so stressful due to not knowing if I would get them off. Luckily, there were enough nurses who didn't have kids or wanted the extra pay who wanted to work. Being with my kids and family is always the most important part of the holidays for me. Thank you for thinking of the families with kids!

Congrats, JB - that's awesome!

QOTD: I think the most beloved Thanksgiving thing in my family is a toss up between cherry crumb pie and candied sweet potatoes. That said - when my husband and BIL joined the family, they both remarked that they had never seen a Thanksgiving with some many veggies LOL When we're with the extended family, we're in the habit of having a million veggies because everyone has their favorite and we have to have them all - "big" lima beans (that's Fordhook limas), corn, green beans (not casserole), asparagus, glazed carrots, and more!

How is it that shorts weeks feel so long?

8:30 - coffee, eggs

11:30 - protein shake, carrots

2:30 - yogurt, chia seeds, raspberries

6 - taco Tuesday

8:30 - rice cakes, pb, almonds

hi all

doing fine, made an aldi cuban roast yesterday with homemade mashed taters and green beans. so there is a leftover meal for me today.

QOTD: my mom makes that chocolate delight with pudding and cool whip and pecans and we usually have watergate salad without the mayo and cherries but with the marshmallows. mom makes a cornbread dressing with giblet gravy. Those are the staples each year and of course turkey which generally ends up dry and not cooked perfectly.

JB- I'm so happy for you about this... would love to hear your bosses reaction on that one... umm didn't i tell you i wasn't going to do 9 jobs anymore? lol this will be a godsend for you.

food for today- FYI its national expresso day so giddie up. dunkin is free and some others.

QJB - Congrats on the new job! What a wonderful way to start the new year.

I have felt like I have an emotional hangover from the weekend. I'm trying to get into a festive mood for Thanksgiving but just haven't been feeling well. I'm also at a weight stall again. I know I should just keep doing what I'm doing but it sure is frustrating.
