Good morning! yay it's Friday and QJB -- because, you know, this is part of the reason we are here, here's a big pile of good JuJu for your and my best vibes coming your way!
I had a great time at our friends last night. They made fall off the bone short ribs, brussells sprouts and cheesy grits. They were trying so hard to get me a good protein, and I had let them know my gastritis was out of control (he's an ER doc, so all things are on the table topic wise****an I tell you how good those cheesy grits were? Not only on my tongue but in my tummy. They laughed that I scarfed them, and didn't touch the veggies. I was like, yummmmmm slider food. And I successfully went 24 hours without aggravating my stomach further. I plan on continuing to make mild and proper selections because Cabo is in a week, and I would like to enjoy some adult beverages and fabulous food there. Also, my weight is down a bit more, so that's a bonus leading into Cabo week.
Tonight I hope to watch the Adele Special! Other than that, nothing much going on today after work. But work is going to be crazy!
Menu:
B: the last little bit of chicken and veggies stirred into cottage cheese
L: the last little bit of meatloaf and cauliflower au gratin (It's Trader Joe's Cauliflower and broccoli au gratin, and if you buy it, it's really better after you reheat it. It was too loose the first time, but now it's great!)
D: shepard's pie
S: depending on how the gut is...I have yogurt, a chomps and jerky to pick from. And maybe a square of dark chocolate during Adele.
Peace Everyone!!

Good morning, everybody!
Crossing fingers for QJB and KalesD on their career success. Today I am going for my COVID booster shot at 2:00. Marilyn said that she was pretty tired the day after her booster, hopefully, I take mine better because we have a fun weekend planned. And fun includes 40 burpee pull-ups to a bar 12 inches above my reach at 9:00 tomorrow, so I need to be perky.
We had a bit of a nervous moment yesterday with my older son's schedule. He initially couldn't get into either of the two Sophomore electrical engineering classes that he was trying to sign up for. The way the major works, these classes all build on each other, so it's not like he could plug classes from Junior year into Sophomore year. And because it's a small school, they don't necessarily offer each class each semester. So we were left with visions of a disappointed kid taking a year of liberal arts classes while his friends started their majors, not graduating on time, an extra year of Colorado out of state tuition, etc.
Fortunately, he was able to resolve it by dropping a computer science course that isn't a pre-requisite for anything except a course he already took (long story, but when did that ever stop me?). He's hoping to be able to add Linear Algebra to take the place of the Computer course he dropped. He's on the Linear Algebra waiting list, but if he doesn't get an opening, it's no big deal because that class insn't a prerequisite for anything. Personally, I think that taking Differential Equations and Linear Algebra at the same time is the stuff of nightmares, but I am just a simple accountant.
Also, it looks like he can add a computer engineering minor just by taking two incremental classes, so he is excited to do that.
Julia S. - what do you think of Jonah Hill cast as Jerry Garcia in the Martin Scorcese Grateful Dead biopic that they are making?
For the weekend, I have Crossfit today, happy hour tonight (probably Bai water because of the Booster), Crossfit tomorrow. Then I am planning to watch three football games back-to back-to back. Oklahoma/ Iowa State at a bar with alumni of both, then back home to watch Baylor/Kansas State at 3:30. Then, I will finish with Julia's Ducks at 6:30. Once we get back from the Oklahoma game we will be in major snuggling mode.
QOTD: Love oceans and mountains. Not anti-woods, but those are the top two.
Picture. Marilyn entered a raffle for a Shelby Cobra. As if she needs something faster for her one day drives from Chicago to Denver. Jen, you will know if she wins by the sonic boom you hear outside your house.
Breakfast: Turkey meatballs and cottage cheese
Lunch: Jersey Mikes
Dinner: Lets see how the Booster goes.
Have a great day, all!

you should be OK booster-wise tonight. It's usually the next day if it's going to hit you. DH felt pretty crappy the next day, although he had no reaction at all to Moderna #1 and #2. I felt like crap after Moderna #2, but pretty much nothing after my booster other than I was a little light-headed the following day. It didn't keep me from doing anything, though. So....it depends!
