What's on your Monday Menu?
Weekend was uneventful. I spent a lot of it sleeping. I was in a down mood and it's been ramping up(or down in this case.) My Friday visit to the orthopedic surgeon should've been as expected with the 60-70lb loss before I can have hip replacement surgery. It was music to my ears when he said I need to lose 50lbs but I then asked if 40bmi was 240 not 250. He said oh yes but the glimmer of hope that I was closer to my goal had already set in. Regardless, I know I can do it and just need to keep doing what I'm doing.
QOTD: My first pet growing up was a mutt that we got from a pound. His name was Black Beauty and we had him since he was 6 weeks old. When I adopted a dog when I moved to Atlanta, I fell in love with an adult dog at a kill shelter who was past his kill date. He was a black lab / chow mix and a sweetie. He was the bestest pal a guy could have. He's been gone over 4 years now.

If you can hold off longer and lose more weight, the recovery would be much easier.
Every lost pound counts, except muscles loss. You want to maintain good muscles, even if just upper body. Really critical for better recovery after any surgery. Protein loading before and after speeds up the healing.

Good Morning Queen JB and Menuers,
Was that the weekend that Just flew by? Wow that was way to quick for me. It was awful food wise and exercise wise. I ate what I shouldn't have and did no exercise at all. So with that said I do know the new Snowball M&M'S are yummy. I helped cooked for the Men's ministry Saturday Morning and this is the first time I helped with an event like this. This was the first breakfast ever and they liked it so much I think they are going to make it a quarterly event. I think once a quarter will not be bad but wow how hated giving up my morning exercise routine. The good thing was the 3 other women I worked with were wonderful and made me feel super welcome .
I think I need to start baking for the holidays. I need to get some cheesecakes in the freezer for Thanksgiving and Christmas and get started on the Christmas cookies DH signed me up to donate. I did have a problem finding ingredients at Aldi yesterday, the shelves were bare. I asked at checkout if the truck broke down and I was told nope we just don't have enough employees to stock. It was a Sunday at 11:00 and they only had 4 Employees in the whole store. I'll be running out at lunch today to see if the Aldi near my work has what I need. I saw a limit sign on cream cheese of 2. I can't make 1/2 cheesecake so I guess I will have to hit all 4 Aldi's to get enough for the holiday.
QOTD: Snapper was a turtle. But then there was a news alert that you can get Salmonella Infection from them and he magically disappeared. I have no idea.

get the cheese, leave the store, go back, get 2 more, and so on. Until you get what you need.
I've done it a few times during 2020 when I needed stuff for work. (i.e. paper towels. at work we go through them like crazy)

My church had a group that catered weddings. One day they asked me to work with them. They put me in charge of arranging the cookie table. This part of Ohio is famous for its cookie tables. They are a work of art.
When I was arranging platters of cookies, I found that the ladies who were working the reception went through the cookies and put the ones that they like the most aside so that they could take them home as leftovers. That irritated me and I put all of the cookies out on the table. They were furious, but really could not tell me that those were supposed to be the leftover cookies.
They never asked me to arrange cookies again.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
The Cookie table is a Pittsburgh Staple for any wedding. I worked in a restaurant waitressing that held weddings. We never took them home but they would bring them in the night before and put them in the walk in cooler. All of us waitresses would eat a few before the wedding. Especially if they were on a tray covered in saran and not in boxes. The boxes were too hard to open. Now if I make cookies I put in boxes and tape them.
