Haha! When my daughter was in first grade her teacher told us kids don't like almond joy but I'll take them off your hands, bring them to me. I kid you not, all the way to sophomore year in high school, when they would come back from trick or treating and do their "exchanges" they had a pile of almond joys for Mrs Clouse that I had to take to their elementary school. I can't tell you if she actually got ALL of her almond joys bcz on my way to the school there was always a mishap and at least 1/3 of them would disappear, but nobody was the wiser.

I wouldn't have made it to the school with any Almond Joys unsupervised! Rob doesn't like coconut so they are all mine at our house. Good thing there was only one!

Good morning! Who was the only one to pick the Saints in last night's game in our football pool? This girl. So I feel like a winner even though I'm not in first place this week!
Yesterday I worked my proverbial ass off. Moved a bunch of cut wood down steps, 2 logs at a time, cleaned the patio and deck, cleaned in the house, actually got around to rearranging the living room furniture, cut back plants, cleaned out under the orange trees and decided to take all the random rocks and make circles around the trees and cleaned up around the fountain which means pushing all the red potato sized rocks back where the belong. The dogs slide through them every time they get excited about someone walking by. Which is about 40 times a day. Then I prepped food for a pretty impromptu dinner party. Had ten for dinner, over three hundred trick or treaters and two glasses of wine. To say my body hurts today just doesn't quite cover it. Ouch. You know it's the "good type of pain". Muscles used and over used. But I feel like I should have had a win on the scale this morning. I hate that scale on some days. .
Today is a little self care day and may end with me soaking in a bath tub with some Epsom salts and lavender oil.
Menu:
B: 1/3 c cottage cheese and left over brisket
L: gyros meat and tzatziki sauce
D: still on the fence. Lot's of left overs to eat, but I also had gone to butcher's and got stuff for the week. I'm going to see what my body says this afternoon. It might just say "honey, if you want to eat, warm something up out of the fridge!"
Peace Everyone!

Mornin' All!
got back from my annual mammogram about a half hour ago - the results are already in! I was put off by the comment "Category A - mostly fat", until I googled it and it said category A people, which is 10% of the population, are less likely to get breast cancer. Whew. So it turned out to be a good thing after all! I have my COVID booster shot at noon, and I have nothing else scheduled until Thursday. I purposely scheduled my COVID booster when I did in case I have a reaction, which I'm likely to as I had one after shot #2 (flu-ish symptoms the day after). So this will be a slow - but possibly sickly feeling - couple of days. I'm going to go to the gym sometime today before the reaction hits...because I may not be able to go again until Wed or Thurs.
QOTD: We haven't done Halloween in quite awhile. Mostly old farts live in my neighborhood (and I'm including myself in that category) - so few if any kids ever come by. I spent the time trying to glue together a ceramic lamp that DH broke, and I also replaced more of my kitchen cabinet hardware (almost done with that project!)
B: plain skyr topped with diced cooked apples, 2 T granola, and a good squirt of Cary's SF "maple" syrup (this is my current favorite breakfast). Coffee with half & half
MS: protein iced latte
L: probably cheesecake-flavored yogurt pie with blueberry compote
AS: protein muffin?
D: the 1/2 Beyond Burger on a 1/2 slim bun that I was planning on last night but didn't have. And some kind of vegetable.
have a great day, everyone!
If it's any hope my second shot was absolutely horrible and had i not known i would have gone to the ER but my booster was a horrendous headache and sore arm For 24 hours
I get a sore arm for a couple of days with most vaccines (including my two COVID vaccines), so I'm totally expecting that. That was all I had with Moderna #1. With Moderna #2, I had a headache, chills, achy muscles, and a fever on day 2. They say the reactions for the booster is about the same as it was for #2, so I'm expecting the same. Although DH had no reactions after either of the first 2 (other than a sore arm) but had flu-like symptoms after the booster, so there's definitely a chance my reaction could be worse with #3. Hope not, but..I"ll be prepared for it.
