What's on your Monday Menu?
Good morning, all!
Everybody looked super cute on Friday. Great work.
I had a pretty good weekend, got all of my chores done. I got all of my wine storage area organized, labelled the boxes with a thick marker, and brought the whites upstairs only to discover that our wine refrigerator isn't running. So that is my job for next weekend. We have generally never used the wine refrigerator, because, living in the this area, we have a cool, damp cellar that is perfect for storage. As a result the wines in the fridge have turned to vinegar for the most part.
I leave for Reno on Wednesday morning.
Marilyn and my youngest seem to be enjoying Alabama. They had hot chicken sandwiches and were raving about them. This morning is the actual campus tour. Although this is classified as a college visit, I think that he mainly went down to see his friends.
They get home between 5 and 6 this afternoon. I'm not overwhelmed with cleaning, when its just me I do OK. Its more the trying to keep the house clean when my kids are here. And the baking class.
QOTD:Marilyn bought a bag of 150 mini candy bars and we have 17 left. I had three. I noticed that there was only one Almond Joy in the bag, which seems suspicious . So she may have had a few. But no doubt we had over a hundred kids come to the door yesterday. And they were by and large all littles. Unfortunately, I didn't know who anybody was.
Breakfast: protein bar
Lunch: Chicken strips
Dinner: TBD
Have a great day, all!

So wait...you had ONE bag, a 100 kids, and had 17 left? I would not come to your door if I were a kid. Were you giving only ONE candy to each kid?
We usually go through 4 of those Costco bags in a span of two hours.

I was alone in the house with what Marilyn left me. I couldn't run to the store for refills, so had to partition.

In our youth, we used to give out the full sized bars and decorate the yard. You are right, we've slipped. I've got to own that.

She did admit to having a few. I had one of each kind of M&M's, and one Almond Joy. The M&M's were meh, but the Almond Joy made me say that I need to avoid these. Good thing there was only one.

Mernin, happy Monyay!
QOTD - turned off the porch light, and snuggled in bed by 6:30. The dogs were plenty happy to do so. I struggled a bit with my head and feelings over the weekend so I needed it.
Breakfast - fasting, so hot black coffee and water
Lunch - mac & cheese, mason jar salad, crackers
Snack - PB&J on Daves killer bread, LARA bar if I'm still hungry, and a pear
Dinner- fried tofu with brown rice, and broccoli slaw stir fried
Have a great day everyone!
Christina
Let it begin with me.

Good morning ~ Gad to hear you survived without damage and minimal power outage!! I do not miss NE weather. I had a nice day yesterday just doing things around the house at a nice pace, no mad rush and I was able to get a ton done and organized. I still feel overwhelmed by the garage chaos, especially with the Nordic track coming (it shipped!) so I need to make some room for my new baby. Today I have meetings and a lot of catch up work to do. I was up late and didn't sleep well, just couldn't let go but I'm sure tired now. Trying out a new pair of Brooks at the gym today, if I'm not too tired.
QOTD - We stayed home and passed out candy. I ate a few pieces throughout the day. Not too many kids so we have a ton of candy left. It was fun to see the costumes and meet some of our neighbors.
B- coffee eggwich
l- chicken bites
d-chili

G'morning all!
It was a glorious weekend. The sun was shining after a lot of rain the previous week. No more fear of fires (at least in my area) so there was a spring in everybody's step. Luna and I enjoyed our solitude weekend. Lots of extra walks to the park and the beach.
QOTD: I had bought 3 Costco size bags thinking there won't be many kids, but I was wrong. We had to turn off our lights by 8:00 pm. The kids were adorable, especially the little ones. You could see kids were excited to be out and about and do normal things. To the last 3-4 we had to give TJ PBJ bars. Told them I am so sorry we don't have any more candies but they were OK with those. One of them said I've had these they are good. Told them next year if they tell us they are the PBJ kids we would give them a full size candy bar. They were excited about that.
Accountability: I might have eaten all the almond joy candies out of my bag and Jim's bag too. I paced myself but ended up eating a lot of them.
My meals yesterday
- B: coffee
- L: turkey chili
- S: see accountability
- D: skipped
- E: rest day
Happy Monday!
