What's on your Thursday menu?
Happy Pre-friday
Melody-I agree that you and your mom should avoid confronting the neighbors. They may be more easily "caught" by the police if you silently/secretively call the police when they are misbehaving. Very scary and uncomfortable situation to have to live next to.
Today is my Friday (Yay!). This weekend DD and I have the Halloween 5k on Saturday morning. I asked my son if we could do something together (a mom and son date) since we haven't really spent much quality time together. I think we will go to a fast-kart racing place. That should be fun. He is such a good kid and is fun to be around. When I home-schooled him we would play a game of some sort at lunchtime. Now he is not so much into playing board games, Me and DD do play Sequence quite a bit though. Sunday I thought I would go check out a board game group that I found on Meetup. They meet at Round Table Pizza so it is a safe place to meet.
QOTD: My kids pick out or paint an ornament for Christmas each year. Those are probably my favorite decorations for the holiday.

I hope QJB's storm situation is alright.
Sorry that you're dealing with the partying neighbors and the drug situation in the neighborhood. I can imagine that being such a headache and interruption to life. My upstairs neighbors were raided last year on a search warrant. I was actually surprised that they caught the attention of the police. They weren't the worst neighbors that I've ever had though.
My favorite holiday growing up was Halloween - my Mother used to scratch make the costumes. My favorite holidays now are any holiday that involves family, friends and BBQ like Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day. Obviously, my consumption at the BBQs has changed but it doesn't mean I can't still enjoy the holiday.
B: Dannon light and fit yogurt(last one left), cottage cheese w pineapple and Trader Joe's cold brew with sugar free vanilla and stevia.
L: chicken salad and fairlife ice cream.
D: TBD
S: Maybe a turkey sausage stick or carrots and hummus while watching sports ball.

That is a great mindset! A lot of people early on seem to get spun about not being able to do all the things that revolve around food (and let's face it, that is a lot). But remember that it's about the people and the activity helps you to stay engaged (and then foe me the will power can vary too), but I always keep in mind that it's the people not the food/alcohol/etc

Thanks. I did indulge in two ribs w/o sauce on Labor Day. I don't drink anymore so the empty calories aren't realized. But I used to eat, and eat, and overeat at these occasions. It was relatively easy to just have two ribs as my meal and be content with that.

BBQ- I enjoy it. BTW- they have a good, almost like the real stuff "No sugar added BBQ sauce".
Pulled pork, or pork ribs, or smoked brisket. It's great. And because that is dense proteins - even now, over 13 years from my WLS- physically I can eat less that I think I can. Often that's frustrating, because I want to eat more, but...
PS: I make my own ribs, or I buy them made, but with no sauce added, then add my sauce.

I miss logging on for a few days and we finally get rid of that person. Yeah QJB! I quit reading her stuff a while ago, it doesn't usually make sense and I didn't want to waste my time trying to figure it out.
Sorry for the storm everyone is dealing with, and Mel your neighbors are horrible. I wish you luck dealing with them. Sending you positive vibes.
I finally got my roommate to get the screws for my desk from Ikea, so as soon as I get them I can attach to top properly. I have it sitting on the legs but wouldn't trust it to put anything on it.
I've ordered faux wood blinds for all the windows in my condo, it will probably take a couple of weeks but they will text me when they are ready to pickup. No delivery here in Maui. But my bookcase will be here sooner than expected so maybe I can tame some of this chaos.
I did a check on whale sightings and there were a few yesterday, so I will try to get down to the beach today and maybe I'll be able to find my binoculars so I can do some searching. Honestly the humpbacks were one of the reasons that I chose to move here.
I need to get back to work, somehow I lost track of one of my jobs and didn't get it out until today. Plus software issues that kept me at the des****il way after 4PM so about 11 hour day and not much to show for it.
Have a great day everyone!

Hey kids! Quick check in to say hi. No internet for us yet so I'll probably be off tomorrow too. I can't deal with posting a whole thread from my phone.
We are 100% fine but the rest of the neighborhood is actually destroyed. I'll send pics when I can!
