What's on your Thursday menu?

Sheila,
I have found the small bags at grocer outlet, which is wonderful for tracking and portion control.
First time around I found them at grocery outlet too! I think I bought their whole inventory! Can't find them there any more.

Good morning, everybody!
Our elevators at work have little news blurbs in them, and yesterday I saw a story that the name Nigel was dying out in England. I guess that in 2020, only two newly born children in all of England were named Nigel. That seems hard to believe.
My favorite Nigel, of course, was Nigel Tufnel from the mid 1980's mock Rockumentary This is Spinal Tap. He of the famous amplifier that went to 11 (for when you need to be just a little louder) and classic quotes such as "its such a thin line between clever and stupid."
Nobody could straddle that line like this guy Dylan from Valencia California. In 2014 he saw an advertisement for Six Flags Magic Mountain, presumably in California. In the advertisement, they said that you could obtain a yearly pass for $150 that would allow you to access the park, ride the amusements, and eat two meals. Sounds good if you are taking the fam to a park a couple of times a year and aren't petrified of heights like me.
But Dylan saw an opening. For the next seven years, Dylan claims that he used this $150 a year pass as his sole supply of food, eating over 2,000 meals at Six flags, and allowing him to buy a house with the money he saved. Says Dylan:
The first year, the menu was kind of lame -- all you could get was a burger and fries, or a pizza and breadsticks, or this pathetic sandwich and a refillable soda cup," he said. "It wasn't healthy at all, which was rough."
The premium dining pass also includes typical funfair snack treats like ice cream, funnel cakes and cookies.
"That's where it got dangerous," Dylan admitted. "Separate from the meal, you could get Dippin' Dots, sundaes, churros, pretzels -- all that type of stuff. That's when I started adding weight."
QOTD: Probably the china and table settings that we have for Thanksgiving Dinner. I think that the plates that go under the main plates are called chargers. I know people don't like china and silver etc. to clutter there houses any more but it does make a meal special.
Breakfast: sausage and cottage cheese
Lunch: Hamburger
dinner: TBD
Have a great day, all!

I saw this about Dylan. I love his frugalness. I look stunning in this new outfit I have on and between an estate sale and a rummage sale I am all in at about $1.25. I could be a Dylan.

Is the Dylan story true?? I don't think I would be able to put up with the parking, the walk into the park, then the search for food. However, you would save a ton of money if you could put up with the hassle!

The last of the human freedoms, to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances. (Frankl, 1946)
It was widely reported. Supposedly he worked 5 minutes from the park and could sneak over once at lunch and once after work. One of the news articles mentioned a guy in China who booked and then cancelled a first class flight 300 times so that he could go to the airport and eat free dinner in the first class lounge. That's straight psychotic.
