just so you know, the drama queen posts on here sometimes on the weekends, because JB usually only starts the thread on weekdays. So if whoever starts a weekend thread doesn't also have our drama queen blocked, she can see the thread and post to it. Melody often starts the weekend threads, though - and she's blocked her - so we may be safe. Whew.
Happy Hump Day,
I had an epiphany yesterday related to my weight loss. My original goal weight was 150 Lbs. At my last weight in I was 167, which means I would have been 17 lbs from my goal! Wow! But I did re-evaluate where I wanted to be as I lost weight and have adjusted my goal downward to 135. I can hardly believe I am actually getting close to my weight goal. Usually when I would diet I would focus on the "end of the diet", now each pound is part of the overall journey and the goal weight is not the end of the diet but a new way of eating. I really appreciate this support group since it has allowed me to see the long-term process of those who have been successful in weight maintenance. Thank you!
QOTD: Yes, I have been to the movie theater several times since COVID. Before kids, DH and I would go to the movies almost weekly. Then after kids rarely. As my kids got older and we could watch the same kinds of movies I liked taking them on Tuesdays when the movie was discounted. I do agree that the movie selection at this time has been lacking... I have also been to a couple of concerts and events.

It is completely normal to regain 10% - 20% of lost weight, usually during the third year after surgery. Setting a lower goal while in the losing phase is a great plan. That gives you a cushion for regain. Probably half of patients regain 50 pounds by year 5. The easy weight loss stops sometime in year two and then it becomes really hard to lose weight.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
yep - I thought I'd never be one of "those" people who had the 10-20% regain during year 3, but here I am - up about 12% from my lowest weight - most of it occurring in year 3, and with little "effort" on my part. It's just part of your body settling, I guess. Luckily I took the advice of people on here and went a bit lower than where I wanted to ultimately end up. Although I gained a few additional lbs (about 5 lbs) during COVID which I'd love to lose again...
I was aware of the upward tick of weight. My overall goal is 135 so I will probably go down to around 120ish to start with...

Hey gang. My neighborhood was basically destroyed in the storm. We have power (a miracle) but there are dozens of huge trees down and we haven't had internet since early this afternoon. I'm probably not going to start us off tomorrow if I don't have internet by then! If you don't see a post by 5am eastern I'm still without...
Stay safe, JB.
