I used to spend hours raking leaves and paid with a sore back at night. Now I use the leaf blower to blow them all our of the scrubs and into the grass and then mulch them with the mower. So much easier. I also had two huge oak trees cut down about three years ago and that really helped. The house next door still have a huge oak tree and most of the leaves from that end up in my yards.

We have so few fun leaves in our area that I almost packed a bag of them from the Napa area to bring home and spread on the table for fall! Only the unrelenting rain and thought of leaves mildewing and rotting in the rig until I could get them home and dry them out stopped me. I never thought about Northern CA having "fall" colors, but I was definitely not in the know.

When I was growing up, we would collect pretty fall leaves, put them between two sheets of wax paper and iron them. It would preserve them for a long time.

we had to do leaf collections in seventh grade - and we did exactly that! (in addition to identifying them with our leaf identification booklets). I still have mine somewhere around here...

Mornin' All!

I've thought about blocking her as well, but then I have this odd fascination with her. It's like rubbernecking an accident on the interstate. Lately she's been posting all over the place, though - it's gotten a bit overwhelming. Not sure how she has time with all those kids and her singing career. She was supposed to be touring Europe this fall with her band, so not sure what she's doing on a yacht off the coast of Cuba. Hopefully this famous band was able to find another singer for their European tour.

I have one of my film discussion groups this morning (the documentary one). We're discussing "American Factory", which was really good. I'm hoping to get some biking in this afternoon since it'll be almost 60 degrees F today, and it'll be raining the next couple of days, so today is the day. Tonight I'm going to hear David Brooks speak on campus. Should be good..

QOTD: I haven't been to a movie since before the pandemic. I've watched lots of movies online and on DVD, though. There's really not much out at the theatres anyway...or not much that interests me. I'm guessing the distributors don't want to release many potentially big ones since attendance hasn't come back far enough yet. I'd be OK with going back if there were some really good movies out there. I always went on weekdays to the early afternoon shows ANYWAY, when there's hardly anyone there. Easy to socially distance.

I'm up 2 lbs from last week, so I'm really going to have to rein it in. I'm guessing most of that is water or backup since I didn't eat an extra 7000 calories since last week, but still, not liking this. Plus I have my annual physical on Friday morning, and I don't want to be up 2 lbs since last year (I doubt my PCP would care - but *I* do...)

B: plain Greek yogurt with apple compote. Coffee with half & half.

MS: our discussion group is at a coffee place, so I'll probably get an iced latte made with 2% milk and SF syrup. I may take a RTD protein shake with me, too.

L: I was thinking about my frequent chickpea/miso spread on 35-calorie bread, but miso has a ton of sodium, so maybe not. I'll have to think about this...

AS: skyr with raspberries ?

D: half a veggie burger on half of slim bun, vegetables

have a great day, everyone!

Good Morning Queen JB and Menuers,

Without you Julia this thread does not thrive. You handed it over for a few months but it was not even close to what you do for all of us. When your returned I actually felt Joy in my heart. And not to mention I do not think anyone here is upset that you have blocked people who are not here for Obesity Support and only come to be vile and intimidate. I am glad you pulled the trigger on that. I think as professionals there is absolutely no room for that here. We have way more important things we need to use our brain cells on.

So feeling guilty I did not run yesterday I picked up a gym class called muscle and flow. It was 20 minute boot camp and 20 minute yoga. That is the first yoga I ever did and wow I gotta say it felt great. I can not believe the impact it had on my digestive system. I think I'll try to fit one of those in a little more often. Now it is getting colder I can do one at 5:30am and it will keep me off the street for one day a week.

I did meal prep after class. I have 2 meals prepared. 1meatloaf and one pot of of Garlicky braised beef shanks. Doesn't look like I'll need to cook again now until next week.

QOTD: Nope didn't go prior to Covid either. We have an 85" TV and we have theater seating 7 reclining theater seats to be exact. No reason to go to the theater.

Accountability: I grazed most of my dinner.

Morning - mashed potato bar sounds so yum! We all know that person acts certifiable. I don't believe anything they write. I'm sure it's fake, but disturbing non the less. Moving on... I have a doctors appt this morning then taking the rest of the day off. I feel so run down. Tomorrow I have the appt with the endodontist about my cracked root, good times. Looking forward to Friday - a spa day with my sister - facials and massages then lunch by the pool for the afternoon relaxing. It's supposed to be 75 and sunny that day - fingers crossed. If it's cold we will chill in the hot tub - I can't wait.

QOTD - No, I haven't and I'm not feeling it yet. The theater experience is the best but I enjoy watching at home almost as much anymore.
