What's on your Monday Menu?
G'morning all!
Wow, our weekend was wet, blustery, windy and everything in between. We lost power a couple of times but they were short periods so we didn't have to turn on the generator. It's been raining non stop so no running for me today. I'll try and switch around my run/weight days. Even though it says no rain for the rest of the week the trails must be really muddy, we shall see.
QOTD: we have a 2 car garage, during COVID and lockdown DH bought a ping pong table and put it in there for us to have something to do. I still park there but the other half is taken by the table that nobody uses. The rest of the garage is organized, it's his dominion and I don't interfere. Thank god he is an organized person.
Accountability: horrible weekend food wise. I do this once every couple of months. I do well for a while, very disciplined and no cheating, then something clicks and I go overboard, usually with sweets. This weekend I had two episodes of dumping because of cookies and pumpkin shape candy corns.
My meals yesterday - let's not talk about it. Clean slate this week.
Happy start of the week.

We're about to get your wind...but it's headed to 80 today! They issued a fire danger warning because it's only about 10% humidity so I'd like a bit of your rain too!

We all fall sometime. Just be glad it is way easier now then it was to pick yourself back up. Sorry you dumped but that is why we call it our tool. I tell my husband dumping is my "I told you so button" I hate it and love it all at the same time.

What Sheila said! The weather up here has been intense. But we've had a blast, and as suspected, I don't melt in the rain. Our winery tours are over. 7 in two days and one amazing dinner last night. We are about to start packing up to hit the road. We didn't make it to the the Peanuts museum on the way up due to the depression factor over the road rage broken window. But I hoped I've talked the hubs into going today as we start back down. It was one of the few things on his wish list. Today is brown dog's birthday, so I need to find some special treat for him. Not like he isn't already spoiled rotten.
QoTD: two car disconnected garage with a storage area. Storage area jam packed, garage was instantly converted to a man cave/bar and the pool table and huge bar take up all the space. I essentially get to use three shelves. Two for foundation stuff, one for my very few holiday decorations. But he does throw a killer St. Patty's day party with wicked Irish coffee. Everyone is invited to join us if you are in the neighborhood!
Menu
I'm munching on a left over chicken thigh from dinner last night with a couple bites of maple risotto with winter squash. Where I go from here, I do not know. Hopefully I can find a good pick for lunch on the road. On a good note, I believe I am "wined out" for a good while!
Peace Everyone.

Which was your favorite tasting?
The last night, our group of six finished 10 bottles, so I was definitely wined out for a bit. It will pass.

We really liked Delorimer and Matrix. Wilson was good, but oddly stuffy and stodgy. And a old guy fell face first down a whole flight of stairs. So upsetting. Then we found an Italian winery, Pedroncelli's, and they introduced me to Port. Great. I did not need that. Lol.

My favorite port is by a New Mexico winery, La Chiripada. So good.

Happy Monday,
I have re-arranged my schedule to work today due to a couple of meetings that are on the schedule. I will be off on Friday instead. Friday DD, DD's BFF, and I did the night zipline adventure. I was mistaken there were not ghouls, but the zipline itself was scary. We were above the tree line and one of the lines you got up to 60 MPH! I admit I was happy it was dark so I couldn't clearly see how high we were. I am a little scared of heights, which is only a problem with the step off the platform. The girls loved it and want to do it again in the daylight. We will need to wait for spring since the ziplines close for the winter in our area.
Saturday evening me and the family went to a regional bodybuilding show. It was fun to watch. Our area has another show in the spring that I like a little better becasue during the day they also have powerlifting, strongman competition, and crossfit competitons to watch in addition. It is always inspirational to watch the contestants. Sunday we did not get our hike in. It was raining and overcast. I was feeling lazy so instead took DD out practice driving around the back roads since she starts drivers ed this week. I did eventually get to my walk (treadmill) with yoga later in the day.
QOTD: We have a 4 car garage. Spots 3 & 4 are tandum. In the back spot #4 we have a full free weight gym with a squat rack, DBs 5-70#, smith machine, pull-down/pulley machine, leg curl/extension, and lots of plates. Spot #3 has my husbands "girlfriend" (Harley). A dirtbike, and shelves for storage. During the summer I was parking outside to not crowd the gym area, but now that we get frost on some mornings I am parking inside. About a year ago, my FIL gave my son their 1994 Lincoln Town Car. My husabnd insists that it gets parked inside since it is a classic car. So our 2020 Ford F150 gets parked outside in the driveway. So yes, we do use our garage to park in, but we also have lots of "stuff" in it also.
