What's on your Tuesday Menu?
Mornin'!
I'm still feeling a bit anxious/stressed today. Too much going on, I guess. I'll get out and exercise sometime today since it usually helps with that. I need to at minimum do upper body weights (did lower yesterday). They've closed down the bike trail closest to my house for re-paving, on probably the best week for biking before the season ends, so my choices of routes are limited - but I can manage something. Today is the day we were supposed to go to Italy, so I'm a little bummed about that - but the trip we rescheduled until May will be better - nicer apartment, better flights, a couple of extra days tacked on. But still, I think part of my weird mood is due to the fact we're not going now. I'm buying travel insurance for the May trip - and hoping we won't have to cancel that one, too. With MIL's health and mental state, everything is so up in the air. At least she's willing now to move into a continuous care community. Fingers crossed we can get her into one before our rescheduled trip. If not, we'll reserve a spot for her in a short-term respite facility for the ten days that we're gone. I don't want to have to reschedule or cancel another trip because she's having panic attacks and is afraid to be alone (because I'm sure travel insurance won't cover that!)
QOTD: I used to love hiking and super long walks, but I injured my right hip about ten years ago (winter fall) and it's never completely recovered. I now walk with a slight limp - it's not really noticeable, but it's enough that I walk slightly out of alignment, so I get pretty achy from long walks (which is why I bike...I can't really walk long enough or briskly enough to get much cardio benefit).
I usually have my day's meals planned out the night before, but not the last two days - but I'll take a stab at it:
B: plain Greek yogurt with cherry/cranberry compote, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: chickpea/miso sandwich with tomato and cucumber slices
AS: skyr, skinny bagel with light cream cheese
D: oh I have no idea. Maybe kidney bean curry - or maybe 1/2 a veggie burger on 1/2 a slim bun (??) - if the latter, maybe a small sweet potato with that.
have a great day, everyone!
G'morning all!
Back in CA and already missing DD and DC. If I could I would move there in a heart beat, so much to do and so many things to see. We had a wonderful weekend celebrating DD with the commencement ceremony on the National Mall. She is a true city girl, taking us out to various places for her favorite foods. And that girl walks, she used to take a car all the time here in CA but in DC she walks everywhere. My favorite place she took us was a Turkish brunch that they kept bringing small plates out full of yummy food.
QOTD: i love to hike, prefer a designated path but if I'm with DH I don't mind going off the path because he is an experienced hiker. Once with 2 gfs we got lost, even though we were on a path...just the wrong one. A loop that was supposed to be just a couple of hours ended up being 6 hours and we got back to the parking lot right before closing time. It was a little bit scary thinking of being lost, especially because on our car we had put the info about the other loop and if they were to search for us they would search in a different area.
My meals yesterday (travel day so all over the place )
- B: barebells bar
- L: chomp beef stick & a plane snack mix
- S: coffee & barebells bar
- D: the huge yummy and warm pretzel from jumba juice (DH's fault)
- E: none - travel day
Happy Taco Tue!

We got her a ton of little things for her bathroom and kitchen. It wasn't an official graduation present, but things that I saw she needed.
And nobody showed up with presents at the picnic. I had bought also a couple of typical CA things for her and her best friend, who graduated with her, and gave them the night before, because didn't wanna do a big production about present giving.

One of the things I loved about living in the DC area was all the walking I did there. When you are in a small city or suburbs there is always a parking place close by. In places like New York city and DC it would be too much hassle to drive around and much more convenient to just walk or take the Metro or subway.

Good Morning Queen JB and Menuers
Hope all is well in everyone's world. I know we all can't be like Jim gallivanting around wine county but we can strive for it can't we.
I feel like the week is going slow already but probably because I will be off Friday and Monday. I hope everything works out so I can still get the days off.
So a dear friend told me don't send flowers when I am dead. I can not appreciate them then. I found that to be a good point. So DH and I have decided we will pick 2 people in our lives every month, that getting random flowers delivered would help brighten their day. So my sister in law started a new job yesterday and we made sure flowers showed up there so the people she is working with knows she is loved. We also sent them to our dear friend with the twins we get to love on just to tell her she's a great mom. I think we made them both happy.
QOTD: I've only hike one time down in Costa Rica. It was nice but not sure if I could do it for exercise.
Accountability: I had cheese curds and Protein probiotic cookies as snacks.
