Mernin' errybody. Happy Taco Tuesday!
QOTD - I love hearing a proper British accent. My grandma was from England, so hearing it reminds me of her.
Breakfast -fasting, so hot black coffee and water
Lunch - going to find a salad somewhere, somehow. Yesterday ended up being a vegan bahn-mi with tofu, so good!
Snack - black bean salad, with potato chips, a mandarin
Dinner - no clue, did not plan. Will be something veggie, no pasta or carbs. Trying to watch all of those.
I hope you all have a great day!

Let it begin with me.

Good morning, everybody!
I once had a client who objected to casual Friday's because it took away from the fun of dressing casual at work on Saturday. I guess that is how I feel about Tues-Yay! On the other hand, four pages of comments on a Monday thread was great, so maybe I will just adapt.
I've strung together a couple of low-carb days in a row, so hoping to keep that streak up today. I find that if I eat lower carb, I want coffee more. Lately, I've been going weeks without a coffee and then yesterday, I found myself headed to Starbucks for an afternoon cup. Or maybe it could be just the change in seasons.
I think that I am going to try and start drinking more regular water and less Bai. I love Bai, but feel like I'm creating a Superfund site with all of the plastic containers. Plus, I wonder if drinking Stevia and sugar alcohols all day long are making me feel hungry. I won't go cold turkey, because I need something to put my morning Miralax in.
QOTD: One of my colleagues has a South African accent and it is soothing to listen to him explain things.
Breakfast: Sausage and cottage cheese
Lunch: Mahi burger
Dinner: Fish
Have a great day, all!

I've been thinking exactly the same thing about all my flavored waters (I did Bai for a long time - then switched over to Costco's brand of flavored waters - not nearly as good, but way cheaper). I worry about all the plastic, too. It's supposedly recyclable, but I've read places don't always recycle it - a lot ends up in a landfill. Not sure if that's true of our city, but still..). I decided awhile ago that I'd switch to Crystal Light, and I have had it occasionally, but I"m still mostly drinking those Costco things. I need to get off them...
Other brands of flavored "water" is Propel, which I really like. I use a refillable hydroflask and add the flavoring of choice. I do still use plastic. I drink a cold brew from home at work in a one time use plastic or foam cup. So I am guilty of filling up the landfill also!

G'morning all!
I think I mentioned this a while back, GWU is finally doing a commencement ceremony for 2020 and 2021 grads. We are flying out to DC on Thu for the ceremonies on Sat. Very excited to see DD on her home turf. Here are a couple of questions I have and would love to get your input.
- Should we get her another present although we got her one when she graduated?
- If yes, here are the dilemmas :
- she is very practical (unlike her mom)
- We got her a young professional version of a leather attaché/big tote for her graduation, which she hasn't used yet because WFH.
- She is not into jewelry, the only thing she wears is a bracelet my mom got her with an evil eye on it.
- She got herself a new set of suitcases when she got a raise.
- For her bday we got her a Vitamix with all the extra additions and she loved it.
- DH is of the opinion to go there, check her house, see what she needs and get it there on the spot.
- I'm worried bcz after the ceremony she and a couple of her friends have planned a park celebration with friends and family, practically they are throwing themselves a grad party. What if other parents show up with presents for their kids and we go empty handed?
QOTD: British, French, Australian (my Siri is Australian), South African....honestly any accent especially if their first language is not English, because that means they are making an effort to speak another language.
Accountability: I have done some Halloween candy shopping in preparation for Halloween care packages for both kids. DS loves the pumpkin shape candy corns. I think I ate half of the bag throughout the day; 2 at a time!
My meals yesterday (supposed to be ADF)
- B:
- L: coffee + premier protein
- S: see accountability
- D: 2 hb eggs + tuna pouch
- E: 10K jog
Happy taco Tue!

I am with DH but if you wanted you could wrap a certificate for "gift of your choice" or something like that in a small box to have just in case (and then it's discreet to hide if you're the only one bringing a gift!). You will have so much fun!!
I am always sad when someone apologizes for their accented English -- so many people only speak one language (at least so many Americans) that I always point out accents are cool and YOU SPEAK MULTIPLE LANGUAGES.

I have some of that autumn mix stuff in a candy dish in the coffee bar, I've been able to stay away from those little pumpkin goodies so far.
Hmmmm, I am stumped on a gift idea but feel your dilemma. Have you seen those lamp sets where each of you have one and when it's on that means you are thinking of that person... I don't know what they are actually called.
Really Shelia you really had to ask! We know you better than yourself then. You know you would never go empty handed. The only question that needs answered is what your going to get her. What is her WFH desk like maybe get her a standing desk or a cool chair. We have these here at work that are great for posture Steelcase Turnstone Buoy.
