Learning my new normal, one day at a time.
Mornin'!
I'm going to Aqua Zumba this morning, and I have to take my mom to a doctor's appt this afternoon (she voluntarily gave up driving a couple of months ago, which was a good thing - she needed to, and it's so much easier that she just decided this on her own rather than have one of us force the issue). I also need to return a laptop that I set up for a friend yesterday - and show her some of the features.
I rebooked the "ground" portion of my Italy trip this weekend - will start looking at airline stuff today. DH has agreed to spend a couple of days in Naples either before or after the main part of the trip, so at least it won't feel so rushed. And that way, it also won't matter so much if we have crappy arrival or departure times - we'll be in town and can get to and from the airport fairly quickly.
QOTD: I'm having a hard time thinking of one particular person, although there have been some in my life. One of my aunts, for example, who died four years ago was a perpetually upbeat person. She was so great to be around - esp since my immediate family is so dysfunctional. And DH, although not nearly as upbeat as she was, is kind of a rock - it takes A LOT to set him off - he's almost never angry or in a bad mood.
B: protein pancakes with plain Greek yogurt and blueberry compote, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: chicken/miso spread on 35-calorie bread with tomato and cucumber slices. Cole slaw made with Asian-style dressing
AS: not sure - maybe a protein muffin
D: Thai-style curry (baked tofu, cauliflower, carrots - no rice)
have a great day, everyone!

Yay for travel plans!!
I can't remember if it's your mom or MIL that has some technology challenges but I know one of them you have to do a lot of tech support for -- but if it's not your mom, you could set up a Lyft account for her on those occasions where she needs to get somewhere and you're not available. You can also have an account yourself and then arrange rides for her. I'm all for anything that helps people that shouldn't drive get around without driving and these make it super easy. (I'm sure taxi companies in the larger cities probably do something similar as well, I'm just not familiar with it).

My insurance has a service where they will pick you up and take you to your doctor appointments and then take you back home. I use it when the weather is bad and I don't want to bother someone else to drive me or to drive on icy roads.
Most Medicare plans offer that service now. Check your MIL's medical insurance coverage.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
I don'****ch TV much, I do streaming instead of paying for cable but it's mainly for my kiddo.
QOTD: my dad is so amazing! He supported me through so much in my life, even my dumb mistakes and continues to be my rock. He keeps warning us kids that any day he could pass away because he's 84, but thats when the tables turn and we support him. Life without him would be so hard and yet he's left us kids to be great parents. Anyway, sob sob- my mom is equally amazing.
