When I was about 10, I read a poem that made a big difference in how I treated anyone who was becoming my nemesis.

Outwitted

He drew a circle that shut me out-
Heretic, rebel, a thing to flout.
But love and I had the wit to win:
We drew a circle and took him In! - Edwin Markham

People want to feel important and want to be included in things. I can observe a person and figure out what it is that they want and don't have. Then I find a way to help them to get what they want.

I would be friendly to the unpopular kids and sometimes ask them to join in a group where they were never made to feel welcome and comfortable. That worked in school and later in my career. I can win over antagonistic people and make them into highly satisfied customers, because I have a knack for discerning what it is that they really want. Usually it is just for their point of view to be heard and appreciated.

Good Morning,

Is this pandemic over yet? (Don't answer this..) I'm so tired of being treated like crap at work because the 'Emergency Power Act' is still in force where I live & it basically gives the hospital carte Blanche with us employees..I had to stop myself from shouting at my team lead this week.. I've had it with this **** Ok. Rant over.

I had a wonderfully glorious day off yesterday where I did nothing but craft and watch tv. It felt so good. Back to the grind today and I feel more refreshed. I have noticed that I am 'hungry' the closer I get to my period and have a lot less will power to refrain from foood I should not be eating.. so I'm working really hard to stick to my planned meals and make sure I'm getting my water in!

QOTD: I don't really talk to a lot of people - no nemesis for me.

b: fairlife latte, egg whites, cheddar, salsa, avocado.
s: yogurt, honey, granola & blueberries

l: spaghetti squash, ground beef, Alfredo and tomato sauce

S: Turkey lunch meat & grapes

d: ground beef, cheddar, tortilla

Good morning, everybody!

Usually Friday's are pretty festive here, but it sounds like a number of people are having rough goes of it this week. I'm sorry to hear that. Plus Hilary isn't here with vacation pictures.

No calls this morning, so I slept in a little bit. I'm hoping that my back feels well enough to go to the gym either today or tommorrow.

Marilyn has a weekend that is chock full of tennis. Saturday morning match, Saturday afternoon match, Sunday morning match then Sunday afternoon match. And she needs to take it easy at happy hour tonight to rest up for all of the tennis. Definitely a split one bottle night:

One bottle night - lovely evening

Two bottle night - fall asleep on the couch

Three bottle night - hide the electronics

At least it will give me a chance to go out and find something for her anniversary. Generally, I go to the mall twice a year - Marilyn's birthday and Christmas. Other than that, I need to pick a Sacramento restaurant to go to with Kelly and John in two weeks. We are going to a baseball game afterwards.

QOTD: I've got nothing.

Breakfast: egg sandwich

Lunch: Hello Fresh

Diner: Spring Mountain Elivette

Have a great day, all!

Hahha, hide the electronics night. When I was in my 20s, I had two amazing roommates--if a certain threshold of tequila had been hit, Kristen was in charge of hiding the telephones from bEtsy and me. We were the worst for drunk dialing. One day K was going to her boyfriends for the evening and literally took the phones out of the house with her.

Was that was before cellphones? Did she just take the headsets?

It was before we had cellphones at least! (I had a beeper because I was in IT), she took the phone and the cords, in case we had an old handset somewhere.
