We have a version of this, personalized. And I love it. I have black pin heads for "been there", red pin heads for "in planning mode" and white for "wish list destinations". https://www.conquestmaps.com/pages/choose-your-world-map-sty le

Maybe that's a good tie in for travel?

Congrats on 31 years. Travel is a great idea, maybe an Airbnb vacation? We celebrated our 45th this year, and it is sapphires! I didn't get any. Our gifts are usually a new orchid, they are good all year around on the patio or in the trees. And not one of the many I have is blooming right now!

Maybe a gift certificate for a massage or spa day for Marilyn? I like that for gifts as well.

Maybe Marilyn would enjoy a day at the spa.... I know I would. A facial, body wrap, hot room, then massage. That sounds like a fine idea for an anniversary to me!

Good morning, happy Wednesday!

QOTD - I believe I would have survived, but... I would have complained. A lot.

Breakfast - fasting, so hot black coffee and water

Lunch - I actually planned and cooked! I brought tofu scramble (Tofu in plant butter, with onions and tomatoes, black salt (for the eggy flavor) with nooch) on corn tortillas with vegan cheese, frozen veggies, a veggie muffin

Snack - kale and pineapple smoothie with chia seeds, pepitas, pear and a mandarin

Snack - Mini Be Kind bar (salted caramel)

Dinner - not sure, but thinking I will use up some of the veggies/potatoes in the drawer. I am finally feeling inspired to cook again, which is really a good thing. I think my new meds may be helping. Fingers crossed y'all!

I hope you all have a great day!

Christina

Let it begin with me.

Mornin' All!

DH woke me up at 5:30 to have a "talk". They are really short-staffed at his job (down three staffers and having a hard time finding replacements) and things are really picking up since the semester is back in full swing. And then there's his mother's mental health, which he can't seem to let go of when he walks out of her door (which I have no problem doing - I won't let her anxiety issues affect ME). She refuses to do anything about it, and he said if she did decide to do something about it, he MIGHT be more comfortable going on our trip, but he's not sure because of the job stress. I'm not going to reschedule yet, though. I think if we turn her care over to a home health agency, which she is going to have to pay for, he might change his mind about not going on the trip. He's going over to his mother's later this morning to lay everything on the line. He wants her to cover any money that we might lose if we have to reschedule, and he's going to insist that she make an appt to start dealing with this anxiety issue, because it's really affecting our lives at this point, too. Or his life, anyway (well mine, too, if it means we're not going to be able to travel. Otherwise, I have no problem letting it go whenever I'm not in her presence). So I don't know - I'm hoping he's just overreacting. His office has known for a long time that he has this trip coming up, and they're fine with it. So what if some student can't get an appt that particular week because he's not going to be in the office. They can wait until the following week. Sheesh. And physically, his mom has been at a point for awhile now that she just needs someone to do a couple of things around her apt that she can't (so AT MOST like an hour a day), and to be "on call" in case something happens. Easy to arrange something with a home health agency. But her anxiety issues, which admittedly are horrible, have really gotten to him. I'm also a little worried that she's STILL going to refuse to do anything, so we're pretty much going to have to put a hold on our lives for the rest of HER life. This is getting to be a pretty bad situation, to say the least. Oh well. I'll let you guys know tomorrow what happens after he confronts her today. Maybe she'll finally agree to see someone about her issues. I hope.

QOTD: I'm not familiar with the game, but no way I could have been on the Oregon Trail. I remember reading some book for a children's lit class I took when I was working on my library degree years ago - might have been "Little House on the Prairie", but I honestly can't remember. But I do remember wondering how on earth anyone could live like that. I can't even stand staying in small towns for more than a few days, let alone out in the wilderness (so no - I don't camp, either!)

B: caramel Greek yogurt with 2 T maple-flavored whipped topping and 2 T granola. Coffee with half & half

MS: protein shake

L: protein muffin or leftover Indian curry

AS: skyr and an apple

D: pulled pork and Mexican-style corn on the cob

ex: I never got to the gym yesterday to do weights (although I did bike over to Aldi's), so I'll bike over to the gym this morning (to do weights)....so two birds with one stone!

have a great day, everyone!
