Good morning and happy Friday! I have another short day today, then off for a quick trip to Houston. I'm not going to lie, I have waffled on cancelling this trip every day this week. Not a fan of giving Texas any of my money right now. But since I didn't pay for almost anything for it, I don't want to disappoint my friend by backing out at the last minute. Plus, it's a personal thing. We are seeing Jason Aldean tomorrow night. The last time my friend saw him, was when he was with my son and the shooting broke out in Las Vegas at Route 91. I had been there the two days before, but made my husband and I come home so I could go to work the following morning. No one in my immediate life was hurt or killed, physically I should qualify, but they all have some form of PTSD from the event and I promised I'd be there to hold hands through it. So I just can't back out.

I've been doing great on food choices and my weight, while up 2 pounds, has been holding steady for the last two weeks. So maybe this is the new me for this period of my journey.

L: leftover Maui rib, cauliflower "potato" salad
D: packing a P3 and Whisps for the plane ride
S: yogurt
I wasn't going to post a picture this week, but since there are so many pets posted, I am adding one of black dog and my youngest granddaughter taken the other day during our impromtu sleep over
Peace Everyone!

Much as I love Texas, this would be a scary time to be there. My brother lives in Fort Worth and is anti-vax. He has ten year old twin daughters. His wife is a school teacher. They all have to be tested for COVID weekly and quarantine if they test positive.

That is a tough situation. Good for your friend for going to music again and good for you for going for moral support. I hope it ends up being a good evening!

Wow, that is a crazy story. Glad you can be there for them (even if it means going to ******g TX).

Good morning~ Glad you were able to say what you needed even though the action part is in question. Hang in there, QJB! Watching the Buc's last night felt like the old Pats, really great. Nice last minute win, too. Rob had the BBQ going when I got home. He made bacon stuffed jalapenos and ribs, yum!
Today I have a couple of (hopefully quick) meetings, a few things to wrap up and I'm off at noon. Pedi, errands and shopping for the party tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing my family - I haven't seen one of my sisters since before covid! We are all vaxed and currently healthy.
