I just read they discontinued it in the 70s due to safety issues, but there was a newer, I guess safer version that came out in 1992. Not sure if that's still around or not. But here's the version that was big when I was a kid in the 60s:

My son had creepy crawlers (EZ bake oven style) in the late 90's. Super stinky still - I remembered that smell from childhood!

Damn straight you can still get an easy bake oven. The cake was so terrible out of those things and I still loved it. Oh and now you bring up Spirograh how about the Lite-Brite. Wow I loved that too.

actually, see above. It wasnt' an Easy Bake oven I was describing - it was Creepy Crawlers (and related sets). But you may have noticed that after you posted this.

anyway, Lite Brite - I didn't have one, but one of my younger siblings did...

Mernin errybody, happy Friday!

QOTD - 1st was my mini arcade Ms. Pacman. LOVED that thing. Then, books. Books helped get me out of a crappy world into a marvelous universe

Breakfast - fasting so hot black coffee, and water. I'm trying to go to one cup of coffee, so we shall see. (I normally do 3-4 cups)

Lunch - Nothing planned, but I am craving a huge salad. We had Greek yesterday.

Dinner - Again nothing planned. Last night ended up being cottage cheese with crackers, and some blueberries, rounded off with a twinkie. I really honestly need to treat myself better. While I love twinkies, I'm not doing myself any favors, LOL!

Good morning, everybody!

Well, i guess we aren't going down without a fight on this French Laundry trip. Tonight we are meeting to try and figure out any back channel ways to get a reservation. I even researched what it would take for me to upgrade to Amex Black. Yeah, Um, Nope.

I didn't do Lumberjack 20 yesterday because a client call came up and when I got to the gym it was getting late and I didn't want to run in the dark. Did this couplet instead: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10 of 135# power cleans and Burpee pull-ups. Trish hates burpees, but I don't know if she makes an exception for Burpee pul-ups. The bar was supposed to be 6 inches above my fingertips when standing but I was probably a few inches short of that. Close enough. More problematic was that there was a light right above where I was standing, so every time i went to jump I was shocked by the glare.

We are kind of low key for the weekend: Happy Hour, Crossfit, and I have to start thinking of a fun thing to do in Sacramento with Kelly. Hopefully the license today.

I wanted to upload a picture of the Moose family from Colorado, but its a video and I don't know how to cover that into something that OH will take.

QOTD: Kind of basic, but probably my orange Nerf Football.

Amex Black will shock you out of any inclination that it's worth the price for one to secure dinner at French Laundry. Like, who has that kind of money and why are they not related to me?

LOL. It's a vicious circle. You can't get into the restaurant unless you have a black card and you can't qualify for a black card unless you get into the restaurant and order the 3L 1992 Screaming Eagle.

re: burpees - I had to watch a video on how to do a Burpee pull-up, since I'm not familiar with those. My exercise physiologist friend said burpees are really hard on your spine. Although she wasn't specific, I'm wondering if that's due to kicking your legs out behind you (and possibly pulling them back in). If so, the burpee pull-up features that, too - so probably not any better (not that I would do one in the first place - no way could I do either one. Plus I have pretty severe osteoporosis, so even if it was safe for some people, it probably wouldn't be safe for me...)
