She is adorable. I love the floppy ear stage.

So cute. Are German Shepards naturally guard dogs or do they need to be specially trained?

I honestly don't know. But she is very sure of herself and heard something in the garage on Saturday and started to bark at the door. She will be going to training courses when she is a bit older.

Germans are wonderful doggos. They are extremely protective of their loved ones, without being overly aggressive like their cousins the Malinois. I love them both, but after observing the behaviors of our neighbors Malinois, I would never have them. Very aggressive, almost mean once they are out of the puppy stage. (Belgian Shepherds). Germans are the biggest doofus and it's really how you raise them. It sounds like you absolutely are going to be a very good dog owner/momma, from the belonging indoor to the training classes you plan for them. I am a firm believer in dogs go outside to potty, stretch and get sun, and then come right back in. I have 5 smaller dogs, ranging from a Dachschund to a Texas terrier and it's a lot but very rewarding. Plus a cat.

I do know with the floppy ears, they say leave them and don't touch them too much because something about the cartilage, you just have to let them "pop" into place. No idea why, but thought it was worth mentioning. Will you please keep posting pictures as you are able? I would love to see progress pics of this one!

Good morning - I hope you are able to find a med that works and have some relief, Melody. Chronic pain is no joke. I ate my weight in crackers yesterday. I'm sure all the carbs and my migraine hangover is why I'm so tired and foggy today. I would love nothing more than to go back to bed, but I gotta make a living! Another cup of coffee should help.

QOTD - Fall, hands down. I love all seasons really, but Fall for me is home/heart in New England. The colors, the smell everything - and of course, sweaters and boots!!!
