What's on your menu Friday, RNY'ers
Good Morning! Happy Fri-yay! I don't have much planned for the weekend. It's gonna be warm so I need to take care of outdoor things in the mornings. I'd love to get in an outdoor run but due to the fires our air quality had been bad I haven't been able to but maybe this weekend.

Careful with the air quality! I can't imagine running as bad as it has been, a couple days I ended up with scratchy throat, burning eyes just from sitting out in it for a few hours. I'm ready for winter at this point to help out it all out.

Good mornin everyone.
Yesterday sucked. Just had my mind in the crapper. It's still not great but alas I think this pain stuff won't be going anywhere anytime soon. Covid numbers are just getting worse here. I feel so stuck.

Mornin' All! All I have on my agenda today is vet appt at 9:00 (annual exam - so nothing bad!). I was supposed to go out to lunch with my minister friend, but she has to do a funeral later this morning. Part of being a minister - being called unexpectedly to do a funeral a few days ahead of time is part of the deal. Although I feel sorry for the deceased and his/her family, I'm secretly relieved that we're going to have to reschedule our lunch. This has been a heavy eating week due to several events, and I REALLY did not need another eating event today. Nothing over the weekend or next week, either - so fortunately I should be able to get back on track...
So far I've been approved for two of the three classes I requested permission to take this semester. If the third approval doesn't come through, I'm good with that (I intentionally chose three in case I don't get approved for all of them). But the instructor has until Sept 8 to approve it, so the third class still might come through. One is a geography class (which I haven't had since fourth grade), the second is a journalism class which focuses on how different media affect various racial and ethnic groups, and the third (not approved yet) is an intro to architectural theory class that is for non-majors, so we'll be studying various architectural designs and architects. So not my usual line-up (I only wanted online classes, and pickins' are slim this semester), but lots of variety here, so this should be good.
QOTD: hmmm. If you asked me last summer, I would have said tomato sandwiches with locally-grown tomatoes, but this year it's those chickpea/miso spread sandwiches with tomato and cucumber slices that are always on my menu (although this doesn't mean I always eat them - sometimes I'll go for something else with lunch time rolls around...)
B: probably plain Greek yogurt with fruit compote, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake blended with spinach, cantaloupe, and ice
L: we have lots of leftovers - pulled pork and three Indian curries - so one of those
AS: I'll be at the hospital with MIL today since DH has a lot of work stuff to do, so I'll take a protein bar, I guess (lots of the food places at the hospital are closed to visitors because they're trying to manage COVID exposure...)
D: one of the same choices I had at lunch
have a great day, everyone!
Mernin' errybody, Happy FF Friday!
QOTD - Croissant (toasted) with vegan cream cheese, avocado, ripe tomato, bib lettuce... I could eat those every single day.
Breakfast - fasting so hot black coffee and water
Lunch - No idea, planned nothing. I really want Mings (local Asian place, they have the Bao with fried tofu but I think hubs is burnt out...so, need to think of something, whatever it is will be veggie duh. lol
Dinner - build your own pizzas at home with kids!
*Photo is of a salad I had at a local place called Roots. Probably one of the BEST salads I have ever had. It may not look like much but I promise it was fantastic! Grilled gem lettuce, Portobello mushroom, shaved parm (not vegan), it was just so good. Even the fried tofu was perfect.

I really liked the plate too. We need a new set of dishware at home SO bad. We are using mismatched stuff...and I'm over it! It's a random hodgepodge of rooster crap, and Pfaltzgraff and I'm ready to replace. This would be a really nice set.

G'morning all!
Today is our 27th anniversary. The surprise this year has been that as empty nesters we actually enjoy each other's company. In the past everything revolved around kids and their schedule. But nowadays we schedule what we like, don't have to bargain with anybody about what movie to watch, and don't have to convince anybody to go on a bike ride or a hike. I whine but I even enjoy our HIIT session. Don't tell him I said that. We are planning to celebrate tomorrow by going to Half Moon Bay; a hike in the morning, a nice lunch, then strolling by the little stores on the Main Street in the afternoon.
QOTD: I haven't had many sandwiches since surgery, the bread gets stuck. But if I have to choose a "sandwich" I'll choose a bruschetta, but not the way some restaurants make it. The bread has to be toasted, the garlic has to be grated against the bread, and the topping of tomatoes, basil and balsamic vinegar has to be just right.
My pics are from a family of deers in our neighborhood. We have these green belts between the houses (the houses back to the green belt) and it's a great place for the kids to play while safe. We've had many Easter egg hunts on these green belts. Anyway, I was walking by when I noticed the whole family; dad, mom and FOUR babies. They weren't even afraid, couple of the babies looked up but the dad (typical) kept on eating. I stood there a good 5 minutes taking pics but they were not paying attention and kept on eating. Very happy they felt safe on the green belt too.
- B: fast
- L: Mexican cauliflower rice & 2 eggs
- S: IQ bar (salty chocolate)
- D:turkey slices and cheese
- E: 6 miles jog + HIIT
Happy Fri-yay!
