Thank you. I was looking at some old posts from a little over 3 years ago and at least half of us are still here.

Happy Surgivesary!!! Another PB&J-er!! Yes, my running has definitely contributed to my need for iron infusions.

I was wondering about you. They said that the one of their co-workers (not WLS) had the same thing because she was a marathon runner.

Coincidentally, I just called my surgeons office yesterday to get a lab slip because I think my iron is running low so I want to get it checked out.

Well, this is the thing: Marilyn used some of the Chardonnay to cook the halibut. Which means either (a) we are splitting 3/4 of a bottle of Chardonnay, or (b) we are splitting 3/4 of a bottle of Chardonnay and another bottle of Cab. Two entirely different nights. I am making a concerted effort to stick to option a.

That is an interesting story about the iron and ferritin. I never heard anything like that either. I had high iron and ferritin levels for about eight years after surgery and then they started dropping. Now I get infusions about once every year or two.

I remember passing out after one of those massive blood draws and my husband had to come and drive me home. It was in the afternoon, and I had been fasting since midnight the night before. I learned it was better to schedule them early in the morning and sometimes I would bring a snack to eat before I drove home.

That halibut looks so delicious. You mentioned it yesterday and I kept thinking about it all day. There is nowhere around here to get it fresh. We used to have a wonderful fish market in town that had fresh fish flown in daily. It went out of business years ago.

All I can usually get fresh in the stores here is perch, cod, or salmon. Sometimes they will have Lake Erie walleye, which is really good tasting fish.

Chrissy and her husband caught a bunch of Walleye in Lake Erie last fall, she posted some pictures. I can't remember exactly when.

Back in the 1990's, I had the house with the swimming pool, deck, and huge yard. Every year I would have a walleye fry. The men would spend all day Saturday on a Lake Erie fishing charter and they would bring the walleye.

The women did the frying of the walleye and prepared all the side dishes. We spent all day Sunday swimming and feasting on the fresh walleye.

That walleye is what makes Lake Erie one of the best fishing spots in the world.

walleye is really popular here in Wisconsin, too. Not sure where ours comes from - could be Lake Superior or Lake Michigan...
