What's on your Wednesday menu?
We were at Cococay, but it was about 20 years ago. Fun day.

Mornin' All!
I have one of my film discussion groups later this morning (the documentary one. We're discussing "Three Identical Strangers" which I saw back when it came out three or four years ago. Watched the DVD the other night to refresh my memory - it's really good if you haven't already seen it). My MIL is in that group, too - I emailed them yesterday to let them know she's in the hospital, so one of them said she was going to buy a card to have us all sign. That is so nice!! I"m sure that will make her day!). I also need to exercise. I did do weights yesterday (YAY!), but I overate and feel it this morning. UGH. Unfortunately, a friend is coming over for dinner tonight, and she requested Indian food - which I'll gladly make, but I'm a little worried about overindulging again - which wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't done that yesterday, too. And then tomorrow is my sister's birthday - she requested a southern BBQ dinner, so I'm making pulled pork and cornbread, and she's bringing a couple of sides and a cake. So another potentially dangerous night. Hopefully I'll have a nice long stretch after this where they're aren't any potential landmines (or foodmines...))
MIL is doing about as well as can be expected. DH was over at the hospital yesterday afternoon and evening (I was going to take afternoon duty, but we re-read the visitor's policy. We thought it was one visitor at a time, but it's one person every 24 hours - so we won't be able to tag team after all. And if only one of us can be there, it should be him.). She had a strangulated femoral hernia and they had to repair that (with mesh) and also resection part of her intestine because that section was dead. So it was a bigger deal than we thought (or at least the resectioning part). She'll be there until at least Friday, and she'll probably need some help once she gets back home - at least for a week or two, I'm guessing. She was telling DH last night that she should probably rehome her cat since she feels it's inconvenient for us to go over there. WHAT? I was shocked by that. Of course we'll take care of her cat, and don't mind it at all! WTF was that all about??
QOTD: I usually check the general one to see if there are any new posts, and I always check the RNY one. I'll also sometimes check for recent posts on the whole list of threads, but the only ones that ever seem to have any are this one, the general one, and occasionally on the VSG, DS, and plastic surgery threads. So I'll read those if I have time (which I usually do). This site used to be so active and I'm sad it's not any more (I think a lot of newer peeps are using FB groups instead, unfortunately....), but I'm so glad this thread is still alive!!
B: I'm thinking pumpkin yogurt. And coffee with half & half.
MS: at the film group meeting. Either coffee with half & half or an iced latte made with 2% milk and SF syrup.
L: I have the usual miso/chickpea sandwich written down, but I often have something else instead. But I should probably have it today before the chickpea stuff goes bad. And maybe coleslaw with the Asian dressing since that's pretty filling and not too caloric.
AS: boy I don't know. Maybe some keto bar with lots of fat since I need to really control my eating (given the dinner)
D: Indian food. I'm making a couple of curries plus roti (a flat bread). I was planning to make that popular carrot dessert, too, but I might punt it due to the calories. That on top of everything else will REALLY put me over!
have a great day, everyone!

If I remember, she was pretty ambivalent about getting the cat. Any possibility that she just doesn't want a pet and is looking for a way to get out of it without simply saying that? Not sure why someone would go that route, a pet is such a commitment (which is why I don't have one even though I really want one, lol).

I was wondering that myself. I think we'll need to just outright ask her. If she doesn't want the cat anymore, I can always ask my niece if she wants her. She (my niece) recently broke up with her live-in boyfriend, and moved into her own apartment. He kept the two cats and refused to let her have them - she's absolutely heartbroken. So maybe...??
Good morning! Work today. It's been very slow, so boring. But in my business, that's common and then the dam breaks loose and we are crying in our coffee. After work, I'm taking the warehouse crew out for a burger and a brew for a job well done. Should be fun and over early.
Yesterday had way too many bites of fun stuff. A bite of maple old fashioned donut. A half a home made chocolate chip cookie. And a Hershey's mini bar at night. Actual meal wise, I was dialed in. Ended the day at 1040 calories, but nearly two hundred of those were poor sugar choices. Dumb A$$.
QoTD: I read this thread and enjoy it daily. Love getting to know you all. When I am bored, I will look for other threads to read. Not gonna lie, sometimes I follow one down the rabbit hole because it turns into a soap opera or I am shocked at what the responses say. Kills an hour for me.
Menu:
B: 3 oz rotisserie chicken breast and 1/4 C cottage cheese
L: chicken breast cutlet, 1/4 C refried beans, shredded cheddar, cabbage salad
D: probably the insides of a burger. Hopefully water, maybe 1 glass of wine
S: jerky or yogurt
Peace everyone!

G'morning all!
Sending both QJB & Melody healing vibes.
One day closer to my trip and the excitement is mounting. The requirement for testing for COVID is a little bit convoluted. My trip, door to door, is about 24 hours. My first stop is Germany and from there a short flight to my home town. The problem is it's actually considered like I'm traveling to two different countries with different set of rules. At some point they had said just the vaccine is enough. In the last couple of days they are asking for a test but with a specific time frame...hence the dilemma of my long voyage. I have scheduled the test for Mon morning, hoping by the time I get the result it will still be valid when I finally land in Italy.
QOTD: I usually read only this thread. Once in a blue moon I check the general thread. Thank god for our little menu thread because the rest of this site seems comatose.
My meals yesterday
- B: fast
- L: 1/2 TJ chicken fajitas
- S: whisps, Asiago & pepper Jack
- D: 1/2 TJ chicken fajitas
- E: 30 minutes cardio + 60 minutes weight training + HIIT session
Happy hump day.

Good morning~ Happy Hump Day! This week is not a bad deal at all. I'm having lunch with my kiddo today, I'm working from home tomorrow to wait for the plumber and I'm off on Friday and going to the running store and sisters for a pool day - not too shabby for Amy. Rob is leaving for Las Vegas today and will be back Friday, I miss him already, but it's 2 glorious nights of total remote control. Saturday we are going to SoCal for Rob's Uncles memorial. Sunday my son is bringing home a girl to meet us for a BBQ and board games.
That's all I have!
