Good morning, everybody!

Well, today is back to school. My older one starts classes today. Marilyn and her Dad got him moved in, bought him a bed and nightstand, set up his desk, etc. He assembled his computers, so his room is all set. They did some grocery shopping and walked through with him where he needs to park his truck. So, I think he is good to go. His school goes hard from minute one, so he will be working today. My recollection from college was that Day One was just handing out syllabuses, but he laughed when I mentioned that.

They also went for a picnic at a high elevation lake in Colorado and saw a family of Moose. I will try and post pictures of that, but all that I saw were movies.

My younger one started his Senior year of High School today. He said he didn't need anything for school in terms of clothes, supplies, etc. Hmm. I suspect we will be getting him that stuff tonight or over the weekend. His Drivers Test is September 1st - after that the focus will turn to college applications for him.

It's hard to believe we will be empty nesters in a year.

Switching from Red to White on Friday night must have put a spring in my step, because i was one of only three in our gym to do Abbate as Rx'd. The other two were, lets say, younger, and one of them was a trainer. With the August humidity, I took the runs slow and used them as a moving rest. I did the C&J' in sets of three's. About 53 minutes to finish. You guys would have definitely whipped me on the running parts.

QOTD: Yes, I work with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) in my County (Court systems are generally by County - at least in Illinois). We provide volunteer advocates for children who are in the Family Court system through no fault of their own (typically abuse and neglect victims). I am on the Board, which involves fundraising and administrative work. The important work is done by the volunteer advocates who commit to following a child through the entirety of their Family Court case. The advocate role involves observing the children and testifying in Court. Our organization provides the advocates with training and supervision.

Breakfast: Protein Bar

Lunch: TBD

Dinner: Salmon

Have a great day, all!

CASA is such a great organization and helps so many kids in need.

Thanks, Melody. We are fortunate that we have advocates for every child in our Court system, but many other counties are short.

My kids are the same as your senior in high school. I have asked repeatidly if they need new clothes and supplies from school. No doubt they will also be scrambling at the last minute (well, not "they" but me) to get everything they need (want).

My son will say that he wants new clothes but then not want to actually go out with Marilyn to get them, so it never happens.

I meant to tell you that the merchandise lines at Hella Mega are insane. I took one look and just said no. So, if you really need something, I would have some sort of a plan in mind. What that plan is, I have no idea.

I took your advice and made sure the house was clean yesterday. Good thing, because they did the Denver to Chicago drive in one day and got home about 8:00 last night.

Good morning~ LOVE these sassy cat memes! Happy to hear Henri was a dud. I had a similar nausea the weekend before last that came and went 3 or 4 times - so did Rob. It was odd, also some dizziness and we couldn't figure out what caused it - usually its easy - Oh, it was that weird cheese or I'm never eating 'that' again sort of thing. It was oddly random. Feel better!

We had a nice very chill weekend. I didn't do much of anything except what was necessary - grocery shop, laundry...We went to the golf course, but just for breakfast and a Bloody Mary - which was fine by me! I love it there. I wish I could easily nap - this weekend would have been perfect. I can if I have a headache or don't feel well but it's rare to for me to just doze off. Rob is a pro.

Rob is heading to Las Vegas this week to enter the College Football Super Contest. He is so excited he can't stand it!! This work week is short for me, I'm taking Friday off to go get properly fitted for new running shoes then to my sisters pool to float and gab all day - I need this!!

ohhh, your Friday sounds fun. What is the college football thing? Is it like a fantasy draft thing?

Actually I had that wrong - it's pro football, not college. Anyway it's called the Westgate Las Vegas SuperContest. It's the Ultimate Football Handicapping Challenge - not sure how it works but it has mini contests within the big one and it's a dream come true for Rob.
