Those rolls are hilarious!

QOTD - I live in Colorado....snow in August or May? Thundersnow? The tornado that hit my high school and just plucked of the bell (we were inside); the time the tornado had all us kids huddled in the elementary school wing floor because it was the only place without windows and the teachers were using the big broom to push the water out that was coming in through the emergency doors (which were closed); when we got snowed in for 5 days and had to meet the national guard on the highway so they could take us to town? When we had to spend the night in the school because the blizzard hit so fast that parents and busses couldn't get there and the school was turned into an emergency Red Cross station (we made the national news for that one...not that anyone saw it because we were still trapped at school, lol.

I had a different picture planned for today but this question has prompted me to post the tornado pictures and water spout pictures I've taken. The tornado hit the mall and closed the DSW for about 3 years while they fixed the damage, no one was hurt fortunately (and I was safe when I was taking all the pictures, I was in the lowest area).

I'm on day 3 of the egg fast, I've decided I will only do 3 days not 5.

Bulletproof coffee

Omlette with cheese

scrambled egg with laughing cow cheese

Have a great Friday and weekend everyone!

They don't have to touch down to do damage (see the dust coming up to meet it)

Mornin'!

drive by for now because I'm contemplating going to water aerobics at 8:15. Not sure because of the virus - although almost everyone in that class is in their 70s or 80s (morning class, you know...), and it's rarely very crowded. I guess I could get in the back of class pretty far from others. Although I don't know. Although I was in the weight room on Wednesday, which is probably less safe. Hmmm. The original plan was biking this morning, but at 87% humidity, I don't think so...

no plans for today - but I think I'll take one of my kitchen cabinet doors over to a place that sells handles and knobs (and hinges), since we've been talking about replacing the current ones FOREVER. Might be a good day to see what's out there since it's going to be hot and sticky and miserable, and I have no other plans.

QOTD: the only natural disaster we really have in this area (Wisconsin) is tornadoes (the whole area along the Mississippi River (including areas even 100 or so miles away from it) is susceptible), although we don't get them nearly as often as the people in the states south of us (like Kansas, Missouri, Alabama, etc). We do get extremes in temperature, but that's not "wild" weather. On a couple of TV shows about climate change, they said the Upper Midwest is probably the safest place to be since we really don't have weird weather things up here - and being this far north, we're less likely to be affected by outrageously hot temperatures, too...

B: Greek yogurt with diced mango, coffee with half & half

MS: protein shake (blended with kale and ice)

L: the oft-eaten miso/chickpea sandwich with cucumber and tomato slices

AS: protein muffin?

D: "Ginger sesame" baked tofu mixed with "Asian seasoned" vegetables (both already prepared. I'm lazy...)

Have a great day, everyone!

Hail to Queen JB and good morning to the rest of the peasant menuers.

Yeah JB big life changing decisions coming your way. Someone will be making a pro and con list before the weekend is out. Good luck with sorting things out.

Yes Friday and I am off for a week. Lots of traveling in the future it take about 7 hours to get to Ocean City Maryland from Pittsburgh but it is the closest beach to us. I know we rented a pontoon boat on Monday and on Tuesday were going to Assateague Island. Looking forward to stopping at some road side markets to pick up fresh produce on the way down. I have not been out of Pittsburgh since February 2020. I'm Ready to say the least.

QOTD: Honestly we got some great weather here in Pittsburgh but I do remember in 2010 we had 24inches of snow.

Accountability: I snacked on 1/3 of a Lilly's salted caramel chocolate bar which was good I stopped at just the 1/3 instead of eating the whole thing in one sitting.

My family always rents a condo at Ocean City, but this year things were too up in the air to make those plans. My sister and her husband just got back yesterday. They stayed in one of the hotels. It was over $300 a night and there is no housekeeping or room service, due to COVID. The cleaning people who depend on tips are not getting tips, of course.

I love Ocean City and the trip to see the wild horses. Have a great time.

Good morning!

QJB -- My thoughts went straight to this; reclaiming hours of your life lost in commute can benefit you in a zillion ways. Taking a possible step back in your career strategy may impact you in the short run, but if you are not loving the new life of a 5 minute commute, you could start putting feelers back out there. I commuted 90 minutes each way for 11 years. I have never regretted getting my life back when we moved. It's true that my move didn't impact my career arc, but it was financially straining for several years based on the increased mortgage. But nearly 16 years later, I still marvel at how much I love having time home to sort myself out from work before I have to throw myself into dinner prep. So nice to just breathe...

My day should be good and busy. I actually adulted last night, and stuck to water and my food plan. And I had a wonderful visit with friends. Woo hoo!. I think my husband is planning wine with the neighbors tonight. I'm going to aim for water again.

QoTD: I'd say our worst thing is the Santa Ana's. I hate everything about them. Unrelenting heat with hot winds. Dry air. Skin cracking, nose bleeds. It's like being in a convection pizza oven. So hot. So windy. And the fire danger is no joke. I've been evacuated from my homes twice due to fires during the season. October is Santa Ana season, so I still have that to look forward to this year.

Menu: Sticking to my guns and being really good to stop the weight gain (still up) and soothe the gastritis.

B: hb egg, lite string cheese

L: insides of two gourmet tacos. They wrap the insides in melted oxaca cheese, so pretty rich. I may eat only one

D: cilantro cream chicken cutlet, refried beans, salad, sprinkled with cheese

S: beef jerky or Lemon Two good yogurt

Pictures! My brown dog and his rough camping life. My grand babies fishing with the line they MacGuyver'd out of sticks and lake grass and the last one is one of my huge projects this week. We put this on a PLANE for Hawaii this week. Those are your tax dollars at work, my friends!

Peace Everyone! Have a great weekend.

P.S. Can I just say how grateful I am that I was born in the USA. My heart hurts for the innocents in Afghanistan.

Good morning, everybody!

Running late this morning. I had to use the alarm clock twice this week. Wednesday to go into the office and yesterday for an early conference call. So today I slept in a bit to compensate. Plus, I stayed up late last nigh****ching TV.

Today is not a terribly busy day work wise, so I have to clean up the kitchen, try and do a double workout day, and maybe get an early start on my weekend tasks. it sounds like Marilyn will be back from Colorado on Sunday evening.

I may circle back and post a few Alaska photos from my phone. In fact, this entire post is weak and lacking in content. Especially for a Friday. Sorry guys.

QOTD: As much as it pains me to type this Polar Vortex.

Breakfast: Protein Bar

Lunch: Hamburger

Dinner: Far Niente Chardonnay 2018

Have a great day, all!
