Back from my week at the beach with my friends. I am totally relaxed and go back to work to tomorrow. I am exactly the same weight as when I left in spite of tons of exercise and staying with the program. Dang.

QOTD: Nope no new toys on the horizon.

Menu: key lime yougurt, eggs, cottage cheese with a few strawberries.

Not JB, but here are the basic rules. You can find a ton of info/recipes on Pinterest.

Good morning.

I am using this forum today as JB advised me months ago when I felt like a "debbie downer" to a fun thread. I just need a bit of support. My good friend Carol may be dying. She was a little under the weather last Thursday, in the hospital Friday night via ambulance, and put on a breathing tube and into ICU yesterday afternoon. Not Covid related. She's crashing and her body seems to be failing and I can't even go sit with her. She is such a dear friend. I walked with her side by side when her husband died unexpectedly, and then six months later she was at my side when my son died. Our families are intertwined and so close. I'm very much struggling emotionally. My food choices were on point and minimal, with little appetite during the day. But on the way home, I think my old brain took over. Suddenly I was craving tacos and wine. Easy to get, no mess to deal with. Satisfy my cravings. I bought two tacos and a side of beans. Went to the RV park, got a big glass of wine and sat there with such a pretty view, lost in sadness, and dove in. Turns out I only ate 1 taco. 3 bites or so of the beans, and half the glass of wine. I really was not hungry. But still, I ate about 1/2 a taco too much. My mouth and my soul wanted some distraction. I'm very sad, and I'm very scared. But I'm going to try to not let my emotions take over my stomach today. Keep good thoughts for my friend if you can.

QoTD: I got a Cricut "iron" for my birthday. That was a game changer for me!

Menu:

B: 2 oz pulled pork, 1/4 C cottage cheese

L: left over Costco taco innards

D: hamburger patty, 1 slice cheese, sliced tomato. Maybe a small serving of coleslaw

S: if needed, jerky or Two Good yogurt

Peace Everyone. Hug somebody extra hard for me today.

I'm sorry for your friend - and for you, too. Don't worry too much about food intake right now - self-care is important when going through crises like this.
