What's on your Thursday Menu?

Happy Jr Friday! I appreciate all of the lovely thoughts you sent my way! I really feel the support.
I got the results of the ultrasound really quick in my online chart yesterday but I obviously can't interpret them so it was a little frustrating. But I have 3 friends with varying levels of familiarity with this stuff and sent my results to everyone. 2 out of 3 felt like they were leaning strongly towards benign, so I like those odds! It really made me feel better all day and I was able to focus on my work more effectively than I have in a week.
This morning I am back in for more bloodwork and to meet my GP so I am hoping to get this all confirmed and behind me today! Oh, and it would also be nice if they could make me feel better, lol... but that is secondary to telling me I am okay.
QOTD: Do you swim often as an adult? I love to swim! I grew up like a little fish in the water as a kid, but as an adult I don't get too many opportunities, because I don't have a pool and the Ocean in MA is not really a place to "swim", more like a place to dip your toes and scream, haha. I would love to either get a pool or a little cottage on a pond so that I can spend my summers underwater again! Maybe when I retire...
I didn't really stress eat yesterday which feels like a miracle, but I worked from home after my appointment, so I was a little less strict about not snacking. I grabbed a few extra things but nothing terrible. This is Plan A, for today but I am playing it by ear as to whether I am going into the office or staying home, so things might change?
B: Protein Coffee & 1 Costco Egg Bite
S: Strawberries
L: Caesar salad w/ shrimp
D: The last fish taco!

Learning my new normal, one day at a time.
on 8/5/21 3:46 am - Amarillo, TX
I saw this and literally laughed out loud. Or more of a cackle. HA!
Good mornin everyone and I'm still crossing everything that it is indeed what the answer is JB!
My appointments yesterday went ok. My psychiatrist put me on Trazodone to try and help me sleep. While I didn't get "great" sleep I got better quality of sleep. Instead of a sleep score in the 40's it was 70 something.
The pain clinic prescribed belbuca...I think it's basically a synthetic morphine. Now the wait to see if insurance will cover it. Otherwise it'll cost nearly 500 dollars out of pocket...that's my entire income for a month basically. If they won't cover it I have to find something else. It's a small film patch you let dissolve in your mouth on the inside of your cheek. Please please pray that the preauthorization is enough for them to know I need some relief. The rep for the spinal cord stimulator company was there so they tried reprogramming the stimulator. So far no extra relief from that. I honestly had no hope that it would. I feel the tingles(one of the settings to see where it's reaching) almost where I should. I don't feel it in my back so much or the tailbone...it may be because it's numb almost all the time...even though it still hurts. So I just think the thing isn't a match for me. So frustrating when the trial run did. Either way...onward.
Hopefully the Covid stuff doesn't prevent the MRI. We've had over 150 new cases on average for the past few days. Our hospitalization rate has doubled in the same time period. We have a very poor vaccination rate and people refuse to wear a mask. It's scary.
Not sure of any plans today.
QOTD: not as much as I used to. I love swimming though...so so much!
Mel
hi all
I didn't post yesterday it was a lot of meetings - meeting the new main boss in person etc. and then the thing we have been working on is probably going to take another couple months of work so that is a bummer but understand following the right process to be 'fair' but at the same time, a promise is a promise and I turned down the other job for this. Its frustrating since I have to take on mgr work for non manager pay.
we had italian yesterday, it is not something i usually eat but there was eggplant parm, side of spag, and bread... lots of bread. so i eat it one day then back to the regular grind.
today:
B: coffee
water
yogurt/bran
l: shimp and something?/
d: probably need to eat the rest of the shrimp
I also need to prep up some things like protein balls
QOTD: I took lessons at the Y growing up, was never very good. DH can't swim other than dog paddle.
Good Morning! Happy Friday-Eve! JB- yay for good news so far, still sending you the best vibes!
QOTD: Hardly at all. I used to go to water aerobics at the gym once in awhile but it's been a long time since I've gone.

Let it begin with me.

Mornin' All!
I have to take my mom to a doctor's appt later on this morning, but that's the only planned thing for today. I MIGHT go biking again. I really wore myself out yesterday, but this is going to be the last nice day for awhile. The hot, muggy stuff is coming back over the weekend - so I'll have to revert to indoor exercise (or go out at like 6:00 in the morning..). Oh well - it's August, so..
This is technically the last day of online classes. I'm done with my Astronomy class and my Islamic Art class. I have some more lectures to watch for my Poli Sci class (it's on 20th century genocides). They'll probably keep the class page up until early next week, so i should be able to get them in. I signed up for a geography class next semester. Most of the classes will be in-person in the fall, but I'm too worried about signing up for one given the virus status. There are still a handful that'll be online, and that geography class looked like the most interesting of the lot. Plus I've never taken a university-level geography class. Could be interesting..
QOTD: I was always a fish when I was younger. I was even a lifeguard for awhile and did lap swimming for exercise - 1/2 - a mile a day. I haven't swam laps in a few years, though. I know this is a stupid excuse, but I don't because I color my hair, and the chlorine is horrible on colored hair. I still do water aerobics, though (my hair can deal with an occasional splash). I go about once a week just to do something other than bike (and dance aerobics in the winter). I do like it, though.
B: protein shake, coffee with half & half
MS: cheesecake-flavored yogurt pie with some kind of fruit compote
L: I'll have to take something with me since my mom's appt is at 12:45, and she wanted to do something afterward. I'll take either a protein muffin or a protein bar
AS: probably yogurt and raspberries
D: the last of the zucchini/cauliflower/chicken curry and a roti
Have a great day, everyone!
Good morning!
My house is looking fabulous! They started cleaning up all the crap required to do the job yesterday and we can begin to see the end result. Still have both the stucco company and the painting company coming out today and tomorrow for touch ups and such -- but I hope the scaffolding comes down by Monday. I didn't realize exactly how much I was stressing over the way the outside looked to the neighbors until clean up started and I felt a huge sense of relief. Once everything is cleared out, my husband will put all the outdoor furniture, fountains and such back where they belong. I'm looking forward to sitting on my front porch and reading.
Food wise I did excellent yesterday, but I added a glass of wine. Still stayed in my calorie range, but the damn scale didn't budge. At least it didn't go up for the first time in 6 days.
QoTD: Not really. I love to be ON the water or NEXT to the water. Really don't like being IN the water.
Menu:
B: hb egg, 1/4 C cottage cheese, EBTB seasoning
L: last of the left over chicken roasted with feta, tomatoes, broccolini
D: gyros meat, tzatziki sauce, tomatoes, red onion
S: Chompie
Peace everyone!
