After I became a widow, the riding mower started making a terrible amount of noise. I had several people look at it and did not know what to do. They told me it was not fixable. These were guys who were always working on engines and seemed to know what they were talking about. So I just put an ad on Craig's List and sold it for a very low amount of money explaining that it had a problem that did not seem fixable.

The guy that bought it called me that evening to say he cleaned the carburetor and it was working great. I no longer ask the backyard mechanics and take things to a reputable repair shop. I wish I knew how to work on a carburetor.

I have a mental block about box jumps. I think I'm gonna break my legs by not jumping high enough.

I like life to much to try a box jump. I like my legs also. I just do step ups. I don't think I'll every be able to do one.

Good morning! It's a drizzly day here and the painters are here to start work. Thank goodness. It's a ton of work, was let go too long and has probably 70-90 years of built up paint on the original windows. But I did get a little frustrated doing the walk through this morning when the boss kept telling the job foreman "sorry. I know it's a lot of work". I finally said "I'd call it job security". They didn't seem to go easy on me on the bid, so I can't believe they are surprised now. Yes, it is a lot of work. Lot's of nooks and crannies and walls and windows. Same house they did the bid on. Shouldn't come as a surprise now.

I had a great weekend and we got about 16 miles in on our bikes. Spent a lot of time in the sun and at restaurants during the bar crawl, but I limited myself to ice water and a fried chicken breast. It really was so much fun. We dropped our bikes off at the shop for their 6th month tune up and should have them back in time for our next local camping week in August.

Today is my monthly lunch with my girlfriend and I need to get some groceries. My husband is playing matchmaker on Wednesday for one of our best friends and one of his new friends. Feeling some pressure here to get a great meal on the table. Thinking I will stop by the butcher this morning, and then plan from there.

QoTD: No. I'm really not feeling it this year.

Dinner no clue

Saturday is the beginning of the girls beach week on Marco Island. We have rented a 3 bedroom ocean front condo. Looking forward to hanging out with my sister and our best friends. It is a great swimming beach with white sand. We may even take a fishing trip, we all like to do that. Depends on the price, it can be high dollar outing and often this time of year it gets canceled due to thunder storms in the afternoon.
