If they do it laparoscopically it's a nothing surgery; my gallbladder burst and I was still shoveling snow two days after getting home...and they had to go in twice to get all the stones. Don't let it go on too long though because that's when things like that happen!

My gallbladder surgery was on a Thursday. I took it easy the rest of the day and was fine on Friday. I never had an attack, but the doctor said that it was going to act up soon and scheduled a surgery to remove it. I had a few scars from the laparoscopic, but they faded pretty quickly. I had one stone.

Mornin' All!

I have my annual follow-up appt with my bariatric surgeon this morning, and the dietitian this afternoon (both online). The dietitian is one of those *****ally pushes intuitive eating, and at least year's appt insisted I read a book about it, which I did. There were a couple of tips in there that I've incorporated somewhat, but basically, I let it go in one ear (eye?) and out the other. I'd intuitively eat my way up to 300 lbs in no time. So I'll have to be less than honest with her this time around. I'm the exact same weight as I was at last year's appt, rather than the 10 lbs less that I'd been hoping for - but I guess with the pandemic, not gaining anything is pretty remarkable.

JB - I'm with you on the .5 lb loss. I hate it when I work my butt off for a week or two only to find I've lost .5 lbs. But then again, when you're within 20 lbs or so of your goal, that's pretty normal. I could lose an impressive amount of weight in that amount of time when I weighed over 300 lbs, but now, no. Unless I was willing to take really extreme measures which I'm not willing to take (like eating 500 kcal/day), it'd take me months to lose 20 lbs now.

QOTD: I mostly just listen to music when I'm in the car or exercising, and that's not the relaxing kind. I do very occasionally listen to music when I can't sleep, though - and that's usually meditation music like Tibetan singing bowls, or soft music played along with the sounds of rain or waterfalls.

B: plain skyr with strawberry/rhubarb compote, coffee with half & half

MS: vanilla protein shake blended with ice and cantaloupe (and maybe some mint leaves)

L: 1/2 C red lentil curry on 1/2 pita

AS: maybe 1/2 protein muffin and a L&F yogurt

D: 1/2 veggie burger on 1/2 slim bun (with lettuce, tomato, and Thousand Island dressing), 1 C coleslaw made with Asian-style dressing

have a great day, everyone!

QOTD - Depends on the mood. Everything from rage metal to 70's funk. That's the beauty of music I guess??

Breakfast- fasting, so hot black coffee and water

Lunch - Homemade couscous bowl. Airfried tofu, couscous, avocado, tomatoes, blueberries, mandarins, dressing, and a few other ingredients I threw in a bag to mix in.

Snack - blueberry oat muffin

Dinner - baked sweet potato and salad

I hope you all have a great day!

*had to come back and post photo of lunch!

Good morning! I spent the last day and night in central Massachusetts where I lived for nearly 40 years. Yesterday we attended an engagement party hosted by DD for a close friend whose mother backed out of doing it at the last minute. She didn't even show up so I was the stand-in sort of. Thank-yous and tears from the Bride-to-be. I was glad to be there for her, but really how can a parent do that???

Today we are driving back in the rain but might stop at a lobster restaurant for lunch on the way. Lots of eating/drinking events this week/summer so I am really worried about my creeping weight. At least most of my clothes still fit though some are a bit tight.

QOTD: I listen to modern country or oldies from the 60's and 70's. I like sappy love songs with good melodies, LOL.

TSS: 5 years, 3 months

B: Coffee!!!

L: crab cakes

D: Leftover halibut

S: string cheese, yogurt pie
