What's on your Saturday menu?

Good mornin menu friends and welcome to a long weekend for most of us.

I'll be honest I'm dreading the fireworks more and more. They set off some across the street and our Frankie is just beside himself. Since we've gotten so much rain people are going hog wild.

We're having a small BBQ tomorrow. Just hamburgers and such. Might get some sausage to grill too. The girls like hotdogs more so we'll of course do those.

I'm having a lot of pain and last night was just horrible. I'm tired of being tired.

QOTD: What is your favorite non major holiday?

I'm not even sure myself. I think it might be the newest federal holiday...Juneteenth. It's about time it's happened and being in Texas I feel it's well deserved.

B: JUST egg, blue cheese, sausage and coffee

L: gazpacho and cheese

D: not sure yet

S: fruit, popcorn and maybe a cheese stick

Mornin'!

the hot, muggy weather is back starting today, so I guess I'll be staying in. That's fine - I still have some catching up to do with my classes. It's kind of hard to do academic reading for hours on end, so I end up taking a lot of breaks - so it's taking awhile to plow through all this. I also need to read up on my responsibilities for being someone's legal guardian again since I got assigned to a new person - and with this woman, I'm also in charge of her finances as well, which I've never done before. My sister and mother and MIL are tentatively planning to come over here tomorrow morning with bagels or muffins since I don't want to go outside with this bruised moon face (it seems to have gotten worse - but hopefully will start to improve this week). So...there's my weekend in a nutshell.

QOTD: well, Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, but that's major, not minor. I guess I don't really have a favorite minor holiday, although I like the idea behind holidays such as MLK Jr Day, Juneteenth, and Veterans' Day. I'm glad we've made them holidays. Certain events and people deserve the recognition.

Have a great Saturday and holiday weekend!

Good morning! Today there are bike rides, chasing grand kids, trading my car in for a new used one, playing at the pool and card games. Should be a full day.
I did not eat enough yesterday. So I know from experience I'm going to be struggling with hunger today. I need to make good choices!

QoTD: I'd say St Patrick's day but it's not federal! I'm loving the new diverse ones and appreciate Veterans Day.

Menu is I think

B scrambled egg bacon

L. Chicken fajitas

D. Chicken jalapeño sausages and pork rinds.

Happy Saturday all! Sitting on the porch with the cats enjoying my coffee before it gets too awfully hot. Getting everything ready this weekend for my dads birthday on Monday. My brother and I will be heading over to their house, putting some steaks on the grill and I got his favorite German chocolate cake ordered. Should be fun. These excess pounds are finally slowly starting to come off. Thank goodness!

QOTD: I'm not sure....I'd have to think on this one.

B: coffee & protein shake

L: protein shake

D: veggie soup

S: L&F Greek yogurt W/granola & fresh fruit

My dad was from Ireland and made sure that we all had a new green outfit for St. Patrick's Day. March 17 was during Lent, and there was no drinking during Lent. But on the Sunday before the holiday, the priest would announce that drinking alcohol would be allowed on St. Patrick's Day. I remember my dad going to Mass with great apprehension and always worried that the priest would not make that announcement.

On the big day, we wore green to school and had yellow cake with green frosting for dessert that night. Then dad would put on his suit and tie to go the the party at the Knights of Columbus hall and stay until after midnight. He would come home wearing a green cardboard hat and carrying a bag of leprechaun party favors and green cardboard pipes.

My sister runs an Irish pub in Wilmington, NC and the St. Patrick's Day party starts at 5:00 AM there. The serve green beer with corned beef and cabbage meals. They put up tents for the overflow crowds and Irish bands and singers perform all day. On March 17, 2019, the state came at 5:00 PM that afternoon and closed the party down due to the virus. This year they had the party, but everyone wore a mask.

My grandpa's birthday was on st.Patrick's day. I have to say...not thinking about it it is my favorite holiday! It was always so much fun! You had to wear green or he'd pinch you!

QOTD- I would love to have a holiday that I get paid for, doesn't matter which one. I love the idea of Juneteenth.

I had 3 showings yesterday, and have 3 scheduled so far today I'm sure it will be more. One scheduled on Sunday. So goes the day, hopefully this will end soon. I'm second guessing myself, but I have to remember that this is what I've always wanted.

I'm working today and will work on Monday as well. My boss gave me the OK to work OT, but I'm currently just trying to make up for the hours that I had to be gone earlier this week.

I decided since I'm keeping my car and shipping it to Maui, that I deserved a good radio, with a back-up camera and I also had a remote start installed. It is so cool! It has Android auto and I've honestly never had such a nice radio. I figured it would cost less to have it done here.

I may have a home for my horse, I'm waiting to hear from them. The one that came out to see him was absolutely not a good fit.

The weather has gone back to a more normal pattern, only supposed to be in 80's and cooling off at night to the high 50's or low 60's. Perfect weather, I have the windows open to get some fresh air and save on the A/C costs.

I need to get back to work. Have a great day everyone!

Happy Independence Day weekend

it has cooled down in the Pacific Northwest to high 90s. Which is a relief from 1 teens. It seemed like such a downturn in temperatures I thought I should take a walk outside yesterday. It was pretty warm and I was glad for the shade. I guess I will continue to use the treadmill until it cools down even more. My dog does miss the the walks.

QOTD: my favorite non-official holiday?? Not really sure. My, my husband's and kid's birthdays. We don't work on our birthdays so it is an unofficial holiday at my house.

B: triple zero Greek yogurt

L: protein drink

D: sirloin steak 2 oz. small scoop of baked potato

S: movie popcorn (small) no butter, frozen Greek yogurt with strawberries

E: day off- going to the movies today!

QOTD - So random, but June 14. It's Flag Day. I only know because it's the day my youngest was due, and it's 2 days before her actual birthday. So we start celebrating that day and enjoy her birthday a few days early. She's my baby!

Breakfast- my fast ended early today 11am, so 1/2 killers dave bagel, cream cheese, everything bagel and a cup of french vanilla cappuccino.

Lunch - we are doing burgers, regular for hubs and son, daughter and I will be having beyond burgers, plus potato salad and vegetarian baked beans

Dinner - eh, will most likely be snacks, popcorn, chips, etc. Lunch will be big, and most likely late. Kids aren't even awake yet, and it's almost noon.

Have a great day everyone!

Christina
