What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu?

Morning everyone! I do have wifi in the room and since I'm up and there's no coffee available until the restaurant opens, I am still lying in bed!

we had a 3 hour delay at the airport yesterday but got here in time for dinner and our 7pm lava tube hike. We went all the way down and to the back of one of the tubes, it was impressive. I was most impressed with the climb down and back up (the picture below is the half way point and doesn't quite give scale but I am standing straight)

QOTD - nothing particular, curious to see who among my neighbors violates the fire ban with their fireworks.

not sure what tbr menu holds so posting yesterday's menu instead.

omlette with crispy prosciutto, cherry tomatoes, gruyere and rocket

small bunch grapes

Red chile chicken stew with small cornbread muffin

today my exercise should be a cardio drumming class

have a great Friday all!

We had 3 inches of rain in an hour yesterday, I'm going to be happy to watch my neighbor's fireworks.

My dog will be happy once it's all over. "Someone" let's them off at 10pm every night. It's so annoying

Now that's what I call a hike. Challenging but beautiful.

Mornin' All!

swell hell yesterday afternoon and this morning. A retired nurse friend reminded me that part of it is likely due to the fact that my course of steroids has ended (some surgeons automatically put you on those for a week to keep a lot of the swelling down that first week when your body is trying to do some major healing. And yep - this particular surgeon did prescribe them, and I am indeed done with them - so that might be part of the issue). I remember from previous plastic surgeries that this kind of came and went for several weeks - although it was the worst for the first three weeks or so. At least my calendar is pretty clear the next couple of weeks. It's beautiful out today (as it was yesterday), and the temps will be heading up again this weekend, so I really should wrap my moon face up in a scarf and get out and walk this morning. I'm missing exercise - but I know walking is approved, so...

someone on here (or some other forum) was talking about Aldi's halloumi cheese earlier this week, so I went out yesterday and bought three packages of it. I'm trying to really cut down on my meat consumption - limiting it to maybe once or twice a week. So I got some tofu and the cheese to eat with - or mix into - meatless dishes that don't otherwise have a fair amount of protein in them. I'm really excited to try the halloumi!!

QOTD: no plans at all. It's going to be beastly hot and with my swelling and bruising picking up, I don't want to be seen out in public ANYWAY, so I'll stay in and work on my classes, I guess. I'm starting to get caught up - but I still have a ways to go.

I've already made some adjustments to this menu (which I created and uploaded here last night), but I'm too lazy to re-do it (but then, even if I did re-do it, I'd likely make some adjustments as the day goes on anyway, so....). Anyway, have a great day, everyone!!

just slice or cube that halloumi up and pat it dry, then crisp it in a pan or on the grill. YUMMMMMM!

Mernin' errybody, Happy Friday.

QOTD - No plans. I happen to live in the middle of a freaking war zone (or what feels like) during 4th of July and New Years. I also have a dog who has really bad PTSD from the times he was still living on the streets before he was rescued so, he gets CBD, and extra cuddles, and loud television, white noise, etc. Plus, all the devastation that the fireworks causes to the birds and small animals, I'm just usually over it before it even starts. I do love HUGE firework shows that are programmed and put on, but this neighborhood bull**** no thanks.

Breakfast - fasting so hot black coffee and water

Lunch - I'm heading into office so will meet a coworker for lunch. Thinking Thai food, and that's about as far as I've gotten. Maybe some Singapore noodles, sans egg.

Dinner - Making enchiladas, homemade since we have kiddos with rice and beans on the side.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Christina

Let it begin with me.

I'm with you on no to this neighborhood's bs. The poor dogs suffer so much. Last night Luna didn't close an eye because of all the pre celebrations. They are shooting them at random hrs during the night. And it's DRY around here. We are literally sitting in the middle of a tinderbox.

They banned the sales in Portland, and they are also not supposed to be shooting them off, but we'll see. After our hot weather stretch I think it's stupid, my cat is pretty much deaf so they don't bother him. It's me they bother now.

It's always been illegal here in MA, but you'd never know it. Somehow I think the fact they are illegal makes them more attractive.
