What's on your Thursday Menu?

Whoa how is it Thursday? Gotta say this week really flew, even though the days were very very long and very very very hot. Boston hit 100 degrees for the first time in 5 years yesterday, but thankfully it finally broke overnight. I think the pendulum swung too far , though, and now Saturday is only supposed to be 63! C'mon Mother Nature...

QOTD: What is the last thing you went off on a total "don't even get me started" rant about? I was ranting all night about Cosby being sent home yesterday. GAAAAAAAAAH I am so angry about it. You are telling me that a known rapist can go home with NO restrictions, but Brittany Spears isn't allowed to paint her kitchen? The hypocrisy for what our society decides is dangerous is insane.

Food yesterday was ugh. I had my breakfast at 5am, then yogurt & melon at 10:30am, then it just really went downhill from there. "Lunch" was a slice of Swiss cheese and a handful of peanuts at 1pm, so then I had the taco which was supposed to be dinner, at 4 (which was too late for lunch and too early for dinner so I got hungry again later). And then just snacked on lunch meat for "dinner". Again, still haven't touched the junk I have sitting here from Trader Joe's which is some sort of a miracle, but I just wish I could talk myself into following my plan!

Let's try this again!

B: Protein Coffee & Chaffle

S: Veggie Sausage

L: Cukes & Cottage Cheese w/ EBB spice

D: Salad w/ Grilled Chicken & Green Goddess Dressing

Good mornin everyone.

Way to early of a start yet again. Been up since 2:40ish. I'm having a lot of anxiety and I think it has a lot to do with the accident I saw Monday. Just not handling it well.hopefully my mind will ease up soon.

we may go to the grocery store this morning...we get the kids around noon but I really need some groceries. Other than that not much planned

QOTD: two stick in my mind. I was talking to a friend about the accident and how people can be the worst, like taking pictures and videos whilst a man is on the road after being ejected from his vehicle. Just blows my mind how people find entertainment in such things. It bugs me to my core. Also, Phylicia Rashad. Yup related to Cosby as well. The asshole has admitted he drugged women and she gets on Twitter to say a wrong was righted. bye phylicia...

food is up in the air for the most part. I have cabbage from yesterday that'll likely be lunch and dinner.

Good morning! Yes, the hot weather has been insane. I wi**** would just drop a bit and be warm (not broiling) for the holiday weekend. Mike's daughters and their families are at his Cape house for the next couple of weeks and it would be nice if they had good weather. My brother and brother-in-law live in the Northwest US and they have been even more miserable with temperatures over 100 and no AC.

Believe it or not yesterday it was almost too cool at the beach where I live because there is a wicked wind coming off the water here though it is super hot at the beaches on Cape Cod bay. We did stay for a couple of hours though. DS cooked for us and SIL last night - we contributed the steaks and squa**** was a nice family feeling evening. DS seems to be getting comfortable with Mike.

QOTD: I don't exactly recall a recent rant, but I suspect the last one involved the antics of an individual formerly in a political office. Though it could be about the ridiculous initial roll-out of the Covid vaccine and the competitions it caused.

TSS: 5 years, 3 months

B: Coffee!!! egg sandwich

L: tuna fish

D: summer pasta dish

S: string cheese, yogurt pie

hmm good question- someone called me ranting to me about the miss whatever pageant person. Her argument was that the competition was supposed to be be about non altered beauty. I was like that has not happened since the 1980's. you SERIOUSLY think these ladies are not all pumped up with all kinds of fillers, breast enhancements, butt implants, makeup that alters their face structure? etc? you can't say that and you need to get out of your old mindset. then i said i really didn't give a %$%$ about it...

ok food was ok, scale is coming back down which was great, i did make it to the gym yesterday for 1 mile plus 30 min of lifting so that was positive. i really wasn't feeling it though.

food today:

egg/whites.low carb tortilla if i have one

coffeeeeeeee water

lunch we are planning out- closing on TN house today and will only have 1 house!!! yayyyy

dinner is TBD

Mornin' All!

Did not sleep well last night. I had an iced latte yesterday afternoon (made with 2% Fairlife and fake sugar) plus some iced tea at some point, so that must have been it. Ordinarily I rarely have sleeping issues. So no caffeine after 10:00 or so today (although with the lack of sleep, I'll probably sleep well tonight regardless!). I have an appt to have my sutures and staples taken out at 10:00 this morning. It's been much better since the drains and dressings were removed a few days ago, but it'll probably feel even better after these other things are out. I have some bruising on my neck and I'm still in swell hell, and I'm super numb (forgot how weird that feels), but otherwise fine. I'll post a selfie that I took yesterday (took it too late to post - figured no one would see it). I have the scarf on to cover the neck bruises - I'll have to throw one on today, too, since those bruises are still there!

QOTD: I totally get the rants about Cosby and the unnamed politician of whom Liz mentioned! Closer to home, it was probably something DH did. Sometimes he does the same clueless thing over and over and over again, like leave the garage door open, for example (we have tons of thefts from open-doored garages in this town, and he knows this). Then at some point when he's done it after 64,402 times, I blow up and then he wonders why I'm so ticked off. ARRGGGH.

Here's the selfie from yesterday plus today's menu. Have a great day, everyone! (p.s. looks like I inadvertently chopped the calorie totals off when I cropped the menu. It's 1460 (goal is 1400, but I'm not too concerned about the extra 60 calories. I still lose when I drop below 1500, and with this surgical metabolic boost going on right now, too - well, I'm not worried...)
