What's on your Tuesday Menu?
Good morning! JB -- Come up for air. I think one thing you get a handle on as you get older is that the work will still be there. I know everything is super critical, just prioritize and delegate. But you know that already.
Yesterday felt like it flew by and lasted forever. I got up extra early and put in over 3 hours on my day off, and then had a pedi/mani and got my hair colored. A quick trip to the grocery store (not all that easy with fresh nails...) and then home to deal with house chores and and meet with the painters/stucco/roofers. Getting all three companies on the same page and same agenda is like wrangling cats. Who's in charge of scaffolding, which part of the prep work goes first, do they paint first or stucco first? Who's fixing the dry rot? Who's on first? Now it's been pushed off until the beginning of August because it's such a big job and they are terribly concerned about damaging the new roof by walking on it (the joys of have a rolled barrel tile roofing). How to manage scraping, re-glazing, sealing, painting 98 year old wavy glass windows... On the good side, they all say they are bringing in their "experts" in each area. So hopefully we'll get the cream of the crop in terms of craftsmen. Which also probably means they are going to be getting the cream of the crop of my savings account! Today is just about work and a new recipe for dinner tonight that I prepped at the end of the day yesterday.
QoTD: I don't think so.

Thanks for the reminder. I am trying to find a little balance but it's not my strong suit (or yours either, I am guessing, since you put in 3 hours on your day off!?)

Good morning from the beach! So far it is beautiful with a warm breeze. Hopefully it will continue as the high on this part of Cape Cod is supposed to reach 90. I am hanging out here for about 3 hours while Mike seals his deck. We will get lunch somewhere around here afterwards. My current view:
QOTD: We had lemonade stands periodically but not on any regular basis as we were in a quiet self-contained neighborhood so there wasn't a lot of traffic.

I have a monitor on the fritz and my team was slacking on getting the new ones on order. I've warned them that if my monitor bites the dust and I can't work that I'll be hell on wheels and everyone will regret that we don't have the new monitors yet. I hate computer issues and the way they drag me down to a crawl! I think my new monitors will be here today. In a nod to aging, they upped the size again for me, so going from 22" to 25" I think. My eyes will be very grateful!
I just got a new eye prescription and bought glasses at both Zenni and Eye buy direct and they really don't seem much better than what I was wearing. It is hell getting old.

I have so many pairs of glasses from Zenni that it is ridiculous. But they are so cheap that I can afford to have a pair for every mood ;)
