Happy Surgiversary. I'm taking my older son fishing in Alaska later this summer and we are flying through Seattle. I can't remember if we are overnighting in Seattle or Ketchikan however, I will have to check.

Hi Jim! I was just looking at an Orvis fly fishing catalog and thinking that that looks like fun! Let me know if you'll be in Seattle. My summer is a bit up in the air - I'll be gone for 11 days this July and a trip to the East coast in August is also being considered, but not yet decided. Anyway let me know if you'll be here!
OK, it looks like we have a 7 hour layover in Seattle Monday August 9th. I'm hesitant to make firm plans because airline schedules seem to be changing so much. But let's think about lunch as our schedules firm up.
We picked our lodge from the Orvis catalog. My son worked so hard his freshman year, and had such a tough year with COVID restrictions, that I told him we could take a trip to one of the Orvis lodges and picked one of the Alaska locations.

Happy belated Surgiversary! You are really thin for your height - more like what one would expect at 5'3". I would think the only way to add padding would be to gain a bit - I doubt a plastic surgeon would fat transfer there. But maybe working out could help?

Hi Liz! Somehow I grew up with the idea that 125 is the ideal weight for a woman. It evidently was etched pretty deeply in me since I went all the way down to that. I know it's ridiculous since a woman who is 6' is of course going to weigh more than one who is 5'! I will investigate possible solutions.
So nice to see you!
I think it depends a lot on bone size and musculature. My MIL and I are both 5'6". I have a large frame and am quite muscular. She has those thin little bird bones and is definitely NOT muscular. She currently weighs around 110, but in my opinion, she looks best at about 125. I currently weigh in the high 150s, but I look my best at 150 (the BMI range for people 5'6" goes from 114-154). I got down in the 130s at one time and looked pretty ghastly. On the other hand, I think MIL would look pudgy at 150. So...it does depend on several factors - height, of course, being one of them - but other things, too.

I agree, there are certainly women my height and weight who look lean but not scrawny. I weighed this in my 20's yet had more padding - strange but true. I don't consider myself bird-like, but I don't have a very large frame either. Fingers overlap around my wrist, etc. (speaking of fingers, my ring finger size went down to a 5 from size 7. No wonder all of my rings are sliding around!). I don't consider my build very muscular either, and I don't get much more exercise than walking plus a couple of exercises for my obliques. I would benefit by adding in some weight training.
So great to see you too. You do look beautiful!
