What's on your Monday Menu?

Good morning ~ That meme was me yesterday - for real! This weekend was far too short considering I used to WFH on Friday and Monday, what was I thinking coming back to work FT? Short as it was, I had a very relaxing weekend. No golf though - there was a big tournament going on there this weekend. I actually did eat McD's fries and drank more wine that I should - which I why we didn't get to the Unsolved Case File like I wanted, but there is always next weekend. We are moving in a few weeks so I am nesting big time to prepare...Is that a thing? I'm cleaning and purging yet not packing. I guess it is my thing anyway. Which leads to the QOTD!
QOTD -Not at all. It's just stuff. It may hold memories, but it's not the memory itself... I am probably a monster here too. I initially kept a lot of things from my parents after they passed, but their stuff is not them. It was a way to hold on to them for a bit, but I have let most of it go except the special pieces. Someday, someone is going to have to purge all your crap... I went through this with my Grandparents, my parents, and I don't want to put my son through that. Yes, boxes and boxes receipts, bills and every letter/card that anyone ever sent my grandparents for 50+years....just no.
Already looking forward to the 3 day weekend! In the meantime - this is a crazy busy week at work for me. Lots of things going on. Trying to avoid burnout with food and trying to switch it up a bit, snacks and portions - just seeing what works best.

She seemed to do really well. Happy to see us but not stressed when we picked her up. The cages were nice and big and clean. They breed dogs and the puppies had a large space in one room and were all knocked out happily napping.
we booked her for the wedding g we have to go to.
thanks for remembering!!!

My mother loved to shop at garage sales and thrift shops and if we had not controlled it, would have ended up on Hoarders. Once she had filled up an entire bedroom to the point where you could not walk into it. It was decorations for every occasion and she would constantly bring them out for Christmas, Easter, Fourth of July, Halloween, St Patrick's Day, Decoration Day, Labor Day, and any other occasion she celebrated. It would not be one or two things, but boxes of decorations to put in every room and all over the house.
My husband saved everything. He checked the garbage to make sure I had not "accidentally" thrown out something he thought should be saved. After he died, I paid people to help me sort through things and took truckloads to recycle. He had things like his high school report cards and paystubs from his high school job. When the furnace broke, he took it apart and saved the motor in case he might need it someday. There were boxes full of things that he might need, but never used.
The garage was full of tools, most of which he never used. Once he bought a fancy saw and I asked him what he was going to do with it. He was really upset and the guys at work explained to me that he just wanted it to own it, not to do anything with it.
I have one mixing spoon that he rescued from the trash and I still keep it and laugh whenever I use it. I save very little and purge several times a year. The people at Goodwill know that I bring things that are practically new and are happy to get my donations. If it is good and I don't need it, I give it away. I refuse to be a storage facility for things I don't need or love.
I do save greeting cards if they have a family photo on them. They go in my photo box, otherwise they go in the trash.
