Retractable awnings are great. We have one at moms that is about 12 years old. If you get wind in your area make sure you get the polls that attach to anchor it down. If you do not it will rip off the house. We learned the hard way.

Weigh your options if the polls are available I would just get the poll anchors and put them on every time I open it. however if the wind sensor is more cost effective you could go that way.

When I was in my early 20's, my husband wanted to sleep with the windows open and I w exas huddled beneath blankets freezing. Then I went through menopause and was always too hot and turning the heat or AC to the low 60's and just a light sheet on the bed. By then Joe was cold and complaining. Now I turn AC off at night, or down to about 78 and am comfortable with my knit blanket, heavy blanket and quilt. The lowest I ever have the house is 74.
Mini split should be life changing. My heat is zoned and I can turn on just the bedrooms when I get too cold at night. Last year I had the heat on every month of the year except for July. I had heat on this week when it dropped to the low 40's over night. Before climate change, we used to turn the furnace off in April and not use it again until November. It never got lower than about 70 after April. Now we get low 40's in June and August.

We put in a mini-split in one part of the house already and it is truly life changing! We are so excited to keep adding them :)
Happy Friday JB and Menuers,
Great Photo today Julia. Not a big cat person but that is pretty darn cute.
My plans for this weekend diner out this evening. I will get in some more miles on my Elvis run and pick up the pace because next Saturday will be my fist official 5k and I'd really like to win my age division. This morning I had 2 miles that I came in a little under 10 minutes. I just hope it is enough to take one of the top 3 spots for the 37th Annual Whisky Rebellion run. It is going to be a warm weekend so I plan on getting in some pool time. Maybe use some of those Vodka points I see in todays Meme.
QOTD: I keep the air on around 75° if I get to warm I adjust it but with the hot flashes my body does all the adjusting I just deal with the misery. It has been getting a little better since Mary suggested the Progesterone Cream.
Accountability: After the cookie and the peanut start to my day I held it together for the most part just some keto crackers and some of the dip I made from FF yogurt and sour cream.

This is grilling cheese I picked up at Aldi. You spray the gril and throw it on. Wow that is all I gotta say.
Here is pictures of the cookies I made for last Sundays bake sale.
Here is my flower garden. I am loving it.

I used to love running, but 50 years ago, we did it wearing cheap tennis shoes and saying "no pain, no gain". My knees would get so sore that every six months or so, I would have to take a break from running because I could not take any more pain. The running shoes today are so much better. It is great that you are running and winning in your age group.
I am glad the progesterone cream is helping. The hot flashes go away after a while and the next stage is being cold.
