as others have said, the head hunger never goes away. And a lot of people struggle with body image. I still occasionally think I look enormous, when I don't at all. I'll often see photos of myself from a year or two (or three) ago and think - "wow - I looked great at that weight- I wish I could get down there again" only to look at my spreadsheet, find what I weighed the month the picture was taken, and discover that I weighed exactly what I weigh now - or maybe 5 or 10 lbs lighter at most. So yea - our perceptions of ourselves can be way off. I would suggest you have someone take photos of you from all four sides once a month so you can actually see the difference. You may or may not see it, even in the photos, from one month to the next, but if you compare photos to ones taken three or four months ago, you'll definitely see it. Plus it's a great way to document your journey.

My clinic's diet wasn't low carb - it was balanced - but I still don't eat pasta at six years out (it sits in my stomach like a rock), and I was probably a couple years out before I ate bread or potatoes, and I don't eat them very often. They don't have much nutritional bang for the buck. And a lot of people are really carb sensitive (I'm not particularly...), so eating carby things for them can be a real issue...

Hi, I am 2 and a half months post op and I'm having trouble eating properly. It seems my brain has not caught up to my stomach yet. I still crave all the stuff from before. I do eat some stuff but no where close to what I use to. I have been losing weight according to others but I still don't see it. I am drinking juice and water. I am eating pasta, cheese, chicken lots of chicken, and potatoes. I do not know how to properly combat cravings. My main question is Has anyone had this issue ? If you have how have you curbed your cravings ? My follow up question is What are or were you eating 2.5 months post op ? I'm on regular foods and I'm looking for suggestions.

Thank You in advance for any advice

to help with cravings,, you pretty much have to go cold turkey off of carbs.
carbs are bread, pasta, oatmeal, sweet potatoes anything ready or made with flour, even whole wheat flour. Fruits are also carbs as are corn.

you have to detox from them and it can hurt like a ***** 3-5 days will be hell then it gets better.

if you slip snd est do

ething carbs you will be right back to square one and the detox will hurt all over again.

dense proteins are meat chicken, fish, pork, eggs.
