What's on your Thursday Menu?
I think that if overcooked it loses all of its taste. And growing up with Polio era parents, pretty much everything was overcooked.

Happy jr Friday all! Quick post for me, ton of meetings and deliverables starting in about 20 minutes.
qotd - I am lucky that I still work with many of my favorites in somE capacity or another but also my BFF is someone I worked with 20+ years ago so it would definitely be her.
I have my elliptical in this morning, have a massage after work so in addition to all the work, it's a good self care day!

Mornin' All!
COVID test was negative, as expected. I'm stuck in the house again today. I'll probably finish reading through my trust document, even though I've already reviewed the parts I was supposed to review for updating. I did find a couple of typos in the part I wasn't told to review, so I'll let them know - not that it probably matters since they're pretty minor. I need to work on my classes as well since I'm still woefully behind (but should be able to catch up while I'm recuperating from surgery). Surgery is tomorrow. Not anxious about it at all - but then this is the fourth one in six years, so I'm pretty used to this. I just hope they don't tell me to be there at 5:00 a.m...
Yesterday was bad, bad, bad food-wise, but of course I'm down a pound today (I thought I was dealing with some water retention yesterday, which evidently I was...). I was feeling stressed - not about the surgery, but about this stupid trust document. Trying to get through and understand all the legal language is really challenging...and this document is ENORMOUS. Hopefully plowing through more of it won't bother me as much today, since I feel like a real blob this morning from food overload.
QOTD: After I finished my first masters degree (in counseling psych), I worked for a couple years at this small church-related college in NC. This place was still living back in the 1950s. It was unbelievable. For one thing, they still had "dorm mothers" there (and did things like room inspections to make sure the students' rooms were clean - can you imagine that now? Or even back in the early 80s when I worked there? Sheesh!) Between me and the dean of students, also a younger woman, we managed to pull the place - or at least parts of it - into the 20th century before we both left there. Anyway, I absolutely adored one of the dorm mothers. Her name was Jean and she was 52 years old (I was 24-26 when I worked there - so the same age as her kids). A divorcee, super liberal, very well-read and very political, and a transplant from Connecticut. Loved her. She had an apartment in one of the dorms, and she was supposed to follow dorm rules, one of which was no alcohol, but we'd often sit in her apt at night and have a shot of whiskey in our coffee. And talk into the wee hours. Loved her. We took a trip to Florida together one year, too. I missed her terribly when I moved to Wisconsin. We wrote letters back and forth, and I'd stop in to see her when I went back to NC to visit family. She died about 10 years later. One of her daughters found some of the letters I'd written to Jean and contacted me to let me know - and she also packed up Jean's books and sent them to me. I still think of her often.
my total calories got cut off this thing, but I'm too lazy to re-do it. It's 1327. I'd better get some exercise, too, in case I go over that a bit. I didn't do a damn thing yesterday exercise-wise! I can't go out today, so I'll do some youtube video.

Good luck on the surgery.
Somebody I knew did the neck part, said the recovery was really painful but so worth it. Her neck was very smooth afterward.

I had a mini-face lift which pulled up my neck and jowls 4 years ago. All the stitching was around my ears. It was uncomfortable the first few days and I didn't want to see anyone for about two weeks at which point I was still hiding bruising with Dermablend. The results were totally worth it though. Most people guess my age to be almost 10 years younger than I am.
