I was wondering about that. A friend of mine named her kid Hazel, too - she lives in Turkey, so I thought maybe she just saw that name in a book or something (and an old book at that - or a book about an old woman!), liked it, and decided to name her daughter that. Didn't realize it was one of the new hip and trendy names! Funny how names tend to cycle like that. All the popular names when I was a kid (Debbie, Linda, Susan, Patricia, Sandy, Kathy, Karen, etc) are dated now. When I see a name like that, I can pretty much guess that the person is at least 40 years old - and probably over 50!

Good morning! I am covering 4 additional desks today, so it's going to be a big day. I came in early and brought my best attitude, because, like what else can you do? Power of positive thinking and a bit of prayer.

When I survive the work day, we've got a nice little bbq planned for the back patio and plan on eating outside tonight. The weather has been perfect in the early evenings. I stayed the course yesterday kept my calories in check.

QoTD: Monte is named after my favorite place on earth, Montepulciano, Italy -- then we got Cash. We tried to stay with favorite places and considered Vegas. But my husband didn't love that so he was trying to go with a play on Vegas. Suggested Blackjack, I said no, so then he did a little word play in his head...Blackjack, Man in Black, Johnny Cash (who is my all time fave and he knows it) and spit out Cash! And so Ca**** is.

Menu:

B: hb egg, 1/4 c cottage cheese -- new seasoning I got. Maple Bourbon. Taste just like eating really good bbq potato chips

L: chicken and veggie fajitas, no tortilla, 1/4 c refried beans, 1/2 oz cheddar cheese

D: 2 oz rib eye, 2 oz sweet potato, small salad, glass of red wine

S: Beef jerky, yogurt

1025 calories, 70 grams of carbs (damn wine), 74 grams of protein

Photos today are of my husband and I out last weekend for dinner, my little "brace-face" granddaughter with her new braces (and obvious reasons for needing said new braces) and my version of the cartoon fad.

Peace Everyone!

To be honest, I had to take like 19 pictures from different angles before I found one that I could live with. LOL. I'm probably done with the app, but I'm leaving it on my phone as my grand girls are going to love playing with it.

QOTD: How did you name your pet(s)?
Our cat (Misty) was named by my partner, but her nickname - Mischeif - was duly earned. I named our dog from a fictional character, Eve Dallas. We tried Dallas at first, but she wouldn't acknowledge it. So we tried Eve (Evie) and she perked up like she'd been called that all her life. We got the cat as a small kitten, but the dog is a rescue that we got at about 6 months old. The kitty is now 8 and the dog 4, and they are best friends.

G'morning all!

Happy Friday everybody!

JB - love love the pic of you with Maryann & Cynthia. All three look very happy!

This weekend we are finally able to visit a friend who has been going through chemo and radiations. Haven't seen her for almost two yrs. She had her last radiation last week and we are celebrating it. I'm making an Italian dessert called chocolate salami.

QOTD: I guess we just get the pup and see what name suits them. The first dog we had DH sorta named her before surprising me with the dog. He just called her Korky which was the breeder's name. The second one I wanted an Italian name and bcz she was a blue merle we called her Gemma. Our present one due to her black and white coloring is called Luna.

My meals yesterday

  • B: fast
  • L: 2 cauliflower thins + 1.5 tblsp cashew butter
  • S: just the cheese (2 bars)
  • D: 2 chicken skewers + 1/2 chickpea masala salad
  • E: 30 minutes cardio + 50 minutes weight training

My pic is of my baby Luna suffering the wind on the cliff. She looked like I was blow drying her.

Happy Fri-yay!
